they slashed me 9 times with no cooldown i dont understand how it works can someone explain
maybe it was just lag, still, if impale resets slash, that’s crazy. I mean, you hit the slash, impale, hit another slash, knockdown and it’s basically a 1-combo death guaranteed after the stun…
or in the other order all it takes is 1 slash to get a ranged knockdown into full prae slash combo
I mean it is a t3, getting hit by them is generally not a good time and the strain’s whole gimmick is it has huge single target damage making it basically a 1 combo kill like you say. But it’s balanced out by being made of paper; grenades will stun it, it’s easy to burst down, gets screwed by fire, doubly screwed by Sadar. Personally I think it’s underrated but I’ve heard other xeno players describe at as like a tier 2 plus rather than a fully tier 3. IMO I’d complain about vanguard more if I was a marine main but I haven’t seen many players exploit that to its’ fullest
regardless of it’s weaknesses, as the player being targetted you’re being stunned and killed without being able to do anything which is not engaging, although i do understand and appreciate the need for stun combat for xenos (and marines!) to be effective
Dancer Praetorian was always a strain specialized to target one single marine and basically send them to dchat instantly, saying this as someone who played dancer for over 150 hours. Time everything right and you make people horizontal quick.
Easier to fight them out in the open, but thats most xenos. Solo is extremely risky because you get hit once (probably with the tail stab all xenos get, AP attack) they then trip you, from there another slash, to do the impale, and then slash you some more for good measure. Stay in a large group to survive dancers, and avoid causing FF when they dodge because it’s common.
Its literally just a big lurker if you think about it, they can barely fight 2 people at the same time, the counter is situational awareness and game sense, much like with lurker, if you try to be a hero, you get pounced/tailsweeped then a borderline 1 cycle crit combo is done on you
The only real difference is that dancer is considerably more tanky and less mobile
Apart from a handful of dancer mains the average dancer player is completely useless. They are paper thin and cannot really engage more than 1 or 2 marines, there are the dancer mains who are godlike at it and make it look easy, but that’s true of basically all xeno castes.
