How to win ops as SHARP

  1. Grab plenty incen darts
  2. Set your spriteclick timer to 2.5 sec
  3. Carry a secondary (I like MOU-53)
  4. Start hanging around the medic bubble/”back” of the frontline
  5. Runners/lurkers can’t survive the front line w/ their T2-T3 buddies so if they don’t want to properly backline backline, they always end up harassing the rear
  6. Start peppering their ingress/egress spots
  7. This won’t kill them but it’ll waste their time and be so annoying that they effectively get nothing done
  8. QUEEN STOMPS!!
  9. Rush to the main front, pepper the entire area with darts, don’t get stunned by screech(!)
  10. Now only the Queen, Crushers and Ravagers can push on screech, you’ve completely denied screech caps to T1s/T2s
  11. Bonus points if you can predict ahead of time so you get max level mines on the field
  12. Repeat till Queen gives up on trying to screech cap

How many screeches can a GL nadespam through? I’d rather those HEDPs etc get used for pushing. And pyro (can) take some time to set up a good flame wall, and requires real good skill and SA to not fuck over the front.

Screeches are nonstop (and QUICK) if you have a Queen like WAR on the field and only SHARP has the ammo economy and lack of skill required to constantly counter them – it IS the cheapest spec ammo and it comes in huge quantities (re: @onetoughcreampuff posting once that they wish they could just refuse to buy SHARP ammo, it DOES have use)

SHARP for me provides the same utility as HE minirockets + lasers or X-wing loadout; cheap, nonstop, repeatable high spread area denial. Denying T1/T2 pushes with SHARP is cheap enough to do for 2 hours straight and still have ammo left over, with barely an impact to req budget and barely a risk of fucking up marines

The fact darts last for 5 minutes and only get stronger means you don’t need to babysit the flanks you’re covering like pyro does – yes xenos can destroy them at range but it still detonates, like an alarm

Sorry for wall of text i jsut think SHARP is really really fucking fun and I want more people to learn to use it right, it’s a support class. I think I could definitely do to put up a PR fixing how punishing dart FF is though; those embeds will fuck you up wayyy too quick for how common they are. The funny bone-breaking 100% chance embeds don’t really “balance” SHARP they just make it genuinely hated by marines.
