Post anything you think could be done to make any other greenshifts in future better.
If there’s enough interest i may do another on New Varadero.

In short, too command oriented.
Way too many marines to civilian ratio, leaving them with not much to do. That and comms being just off was a bit of a pain but not really a big gripe for me. Overall just ended up being the whitelists and command only getting to RP while everyone else didn’t have much opportunity to engage in any RP with the designated “Cool RP” portion of the map, that being research.
Otherwise, I had my bit of fun, hope to see another one with something everyone can engage with!
Use PvE “Clean Hybrisa” map next time. There shouldn’t be blood and stuff everywhere. Also I think more people should “be forced” into playing colonists, instead of 50 marines vs like 6 dudes.
yeah, finding dead face huggers and phone booths soaked in blood was odd
Goated round.

get pushed into charlie
Stay with the boys the entire round as a Gunny, care for them.
murderous private sadly goes SSD.
Get ordered to patrol the W-Y labs by CIC, which clearly do not know what they are ordering us to do.
Talk to the assistant manager of the facility… They want to talk to the CO
CO starts a peace talk with the W-Y to get into the labs
Get 50/60 people outside because CIC ordered every squad to honor guard the CO.
Round was honestly great, but it would be good if marines had something else to do other than do the good old stand in formation for 2 hours, or were given a bit more liberty. Maybe a B-plot with investigating a slasher or pred. Still, event was great and I had a lot of fun and got to talk and roleplay with people.
I was Mp that round and it was very chaotic because every 20 tiles I would see a marine or two drunk and dying due to alcohol which I hope would be limited the next time this is ran and the other MP’s decided to go to who knows where and do their business and not enforcing ML of any kind mainly due to there being no comms, due to there being no comms we had no way to contact the CMP at all so we had to borrow RTO packs until I took one for myself just to relay information. Also hope there would be more civilian slots spread across the map because mostly they were at weymart and also more MP slots to control the marines
Less marines, more colonists. Make marines aware from the start that it’s not distress signal and the colony is fine-ish. (Set event info before it starts), use cleaned up hybrisa, PLEASE STOP GIVING MARINES EXPLOSIVES AND GUNS.
With no comms, headset unable to track the person I was supposed to stay with (CO), no phone, and just disliking hybrisa as a map in general due to how massive it is with so many obstacles stopping easy navigation, I wasn’t enjoying it and left. It’s all good - I’m just providing my honest experience of the round. I’m sure a bunch of people had a different experience and enjoyed it.
The entire research thing was an accident, the CO mistook a fax as being sent by an admin and the colonist CL didn’t realize it, so people mistook this as a “raid the W-Y site event” instead of a shore leave event which is what it was actually.
The clean version of Hybrisa is outdated and filled with conflicts, someone will have to fix it in the future to make this work properly, as for the civilian slots, there wasn’t much coordination prior to the start of the round to offer them, nor there was interest by the players.
Still, this will hopefully be taken into account and all available roles will be clearer for next events we may take action on ![]()
The extended gamemode also removes the comms towers for some reason, above my paygrade to know about it.
definitely a talk-heavy shift, which isn’t bad but i echo what everyone else has said in that it’d be great to have a better colonist to marine balance. especially since no evil nefarious research happened there (yet), only having 6 people on the ground was weird. and everyone naturally wants their attention so more colonists can help balance that, i think
I was the commando TL. I saw discussion from staff in LRC that they were disappointed I didn’t blow away the marines that broke into the lab. Frankly I wanted to but the manager who I assume was the admin that spawned me in ordered us to simply keep marines out and to not even detain them. As much as I would have liked to freely roleplay as I saw fit, I didn’t want to cop a ban over a greenshift event. This is part of the issue with having rules that aren’t just “roleplay your character in the setting” in general, but in the future if you want to give people carte blanche to actually roleplay in good faith you should probably tell them so they actually do it and don’t have to worry about slop like escalation policy.
it was fun and I liked it but like others said restricting marines weaponry would do good for greenshifts events and discouraging marine tomfoolery was hard with the amount of security roles.
Also I would like to see more blueshift events with like most players being colonist, medium sized security force and handful of rebels but I get that those kind of events are hard to organize for admins and would sprial to a TDM in 15 minutes.

The “lack of interest from players” was rather most people observing expecting the general spawns of cops, pizza delivery, WY mart employees medbay and engineering staff some people for bar and otehr stuff by default without having to ask for it.
If someone RLY wants to run greenshifts in the future there could be posibility to create dedicated gamemode with readyup for able civilian roles to roll roundstart but might not be worth the work for something rare. also yes prevent marines from having guns and tip the scales to be majority civilians in colony with minority marines, the issue was not people not wanting to play civilians there were 50 ghosts waiting for civil roles with none being given to them
I would suggest giving free mobs for basic colony staff by default without people having to ask for them with ahelps for custom gear or roles, we allways need few engineers, doctors, loads of cops as marines are apes wy mart staff chupa joes staff and the pizza guys and few civilians, the rest can be custom but this is needed for the colony to function
Yeah this was simply a staffing issue - you gotta realize staff were on all hands for the event to make sure grief didn’t occur.
We’re limited in number.
In future, imo what staff can do - is we can delegate areas of the map to cover- with the event runner looking over the entire event at large.
But this is mostly an internal thing.
But that would need 1, a lot of staff on - and 2, it puts more work on the event runner to secure that each area is handled.
