another way to make difficulty in minesweeper is to implement new rules to the game (ie: no diag detection, only diag detection) and not tell the player… mua ha ha

However I have an alternative idea. Alien technology should mean alien minesweeper. Unfortunately that doesn’t exist in real life, but the minesweeper advent calendar challenges come pretty close.
