As of today, fun facts are now from a random list of people who hit the minimum of X fact.
I myself used to save the fun facts that i got for good memories and i am sure there are alot of marines and xenos with great fun facts saved as well.
One time i got top revives in a round, thatās right, 3 revives. Plat corpsmen tremble in my presence
Not my fun fact but I trained a noob PVT for 2 or 3 rounds and they moved to Bravo HM about a week after and got top revive in their first round (we won! I think they got to the mid- to high-teens; pretty good for a first HM round)
Top rev funfact is a myth made by Big Pharma to sell more epipens
Damn unlucky, in like 30 hours as corpsman i managed to get like top revive 2 times and i was not doing a revive build or something like that, i feel like some are just being lucky with getting alot of revives, fixing IB or just taking alot of damage and not going perma.
For the xenos ones it is usually combat combat, idk how hard is to get a xeno top i usually play xeno builder and pacifist instead of combat casts.
Very unlikely, they wanted to murder top kill stat anyways and the new change is basically the death of fun fact, it is pure RNG since the minimum is just greater than 0, so anyone can appear there losing any significance.
Maybe you donāt know but, it is always been like that, the maints change whatever they want if people agree or not with what they are doing.
One time a while ago I was OT and a scout came and asked for a max HE mortar shell. I did not know why a scout needed that but I made it anyway. After handing him the shell he then explains to me that actually he just needs the warhead, and he needs to do something with the igniter assembly before it goes in.
Then at the end of the round I somehow have the most kills despite never killing anything, and see OOC chat talking about how the scout bombed the hive.
Not long after I see a PR go up fixing an exploit that let you manually blow up OT mortars.
I think this might have actually been the first fun fact I ever got as well.
Yeah leaderboard fun fact has been on the chopping board for a very long time.
As fun as it was, I dont know what made people think re-implementing a kill counter was a good idea when we killed the public K/D tracker just years before.
I have had a few unremarkable kill fun facts, defibs, damage taken ect, but my favorite by far is this, because it really is the example of āa picture tells a thousand wordsā of how awfully the round went.
Last I checked, administration has been super open to changing the minimums for these numbers (with the sole restriction itās not literally a leaderboard) (yāknow, 10 kills / 5 revives / w/e) and not a single person has attempted to make a PR that does so
be the change you want to see in the world

Regardless all Iām mandating is no leaderboard stats. Iām not gatekeeping what stats get introduced. They donāt need to be numbers. They donāt have to all have the same min requirement of 1 or something (just donāt do this to turn it into a leaderboard stat again)
Drathek even helpfully pointed directly to the lines of code that would need to be changed
āsteps tookā bravo SLs in shambles. thanks for the PR to make fun facts a little more fun; steps is a good re-introduction.
not to your PR but just generally, thereās a lot of interesting stats on the game summary menu that would be neat fun facts. TGMC moved total deaths, total screeches, and hugs to the top but thereās also other interesting individual ones for tracking how much of a chemical you took (imagine making fun of the corpsā tram addicts)
iām sure itās also entirely not feasible but if i ever could see a stat of like āmost impactful gunā, thatād be interesting (fellow m39 rushers, get your due credit).
Hey @BasilHerb I appreciate you making this PR. Unfortunately, it is Medieval Greek to me, what facts does it add? I hear mentions of most steps and I really like that. If memory serves it was a fun fact back when I first started playing. Thanks in advance for taking the time to respond.
