Description of the incident:
Hi there, I’d like to first clarify that a lot of this was good fun shipside shenanigans, and I have zero ill will to the CMP, CL or CB. I found the little IC conflict we had going incredibly funny, and it made for a very memorable round.
Where it went a bit off kilter was in the middle of our attempt to throw a surprise party for the Captain.
I was approached as the mess technician to bake three cakes for the Captain’s secret surprise birthday party. Previously, myself and the CL/CB had a conflict over the theft of 30 dollars (he claimed 1 dollar at the time) from my ID via a quick ID theft. This escalated to an argument in the CIC in which the CMP gave my character a dollar, and claimed they should make peace. In response after some grumbling, the chocolate cake was given to the CMP for the Captain’s birthday party, and fish and chips was given to the CL as a peace offering. In hindsight it looks like I’d forgotten to process the carp for that batch, leaving some carpotoxin in it.
The CL, ever the bastard that he was, poured in some cyanide in a framed murder attempt. Upon entering the mess hall, I had a back and forth with the CL in the continuing escalating conflict, until most people left the room. From there, I was cuffed, dragged into maintenance, and had my headset stripped by the Chief Engineer who proceeded to perform a citizen’s arrest. When the CMP found us at the south west pumps, he ordered my arrest for the attempted murder of him and the CL with cyanide. (The CL’s crafty plot continued.) I invoked the right to an appeal.
As the Chief Engineer attempted to inject himself as the delegate of the Captain to handle the appeal, I proceeded to appeal to the Provost regarding this, and received no response as I imagine online staff were rather busy, or missed the fax. I spent the rest of the round in perma as a result.
If this had been as it was, I probably wouldn’t be making this report. CL convinces a CE to wrongfully imprison a crewmember to get rid of someone trying to get him detained. Good fun shipside stuff really.
Unfortunately, as the CE’s player attested to in OOC upon the end of the round he seems to have done this for the sake of it - and given the ability of command players to use officer ordered arrests at their will, this has put a sour taste in my mouth. I’m concerned that this player will do similar things in the future just because, and I’d like to report that to see this cracked down on before it happens again. I’m pretty chill about these things, and I can take being perma’d 4noraisin as it were, but I’d really like to avoid seeing the same thing happen to other players who may just wanna enjoy some shipside shenanigans without being put in The Box.
