Synthetic Info:

Name of the Synth Character you wish to play:

Blair

Provide a short description of your synthetic’s backstory

Built by the Extrasolar Colonial Administration as a mainline all purpose, all terrain assistant to First Families colonizing distant stars. Blairs are architect, geologist, xenobiologist, and more all rolled in a durable, strong frame. Blair was developed wholly by fellow members of the ECA, and manufactured in limited quantities to ensure all Blairs produced avoided potential conflicts of interest between the various mega-corporations vying for further control over the cosmos and the already struggling colonial administration.

Describe your synth’s personality without mentioning their skills or previous professions

Kindness and trust made manifest. Blairs are interested in the many facets of the galaxy, always delighted to learn something new and catalogue it. Remorseful yet willing to inflict violence to protect the greater whole. A Blair can casually remark about the many fascinating things occurring inside of a human while having them cut open for a surgical procedure. A greater priority is placed upon information transfer than propriety.

How would your synthetic interact with enlisted personnel, officers and civilians? How could you involve your personality into these interactions?

In order!

Enlisted Personnel - Kind and upbeat, speaking at length and very quickly about a variety of topics designated important to mission parameters, including but not limited to: The kind of fauna located on a planet, the climate of the colony, the general purpose of a given colony, and perhaps fun facts regarding field defense construction and battlefield medicine
Officers - Cutting back on the played up emotions, switching primarily to pure information transfer. If there is a need to speak to an officer, the necessary information must be delivered in a message as concise and understandable as possible. Still kind, still delighted in all facets of the world around her, but prioritizing the mission.
Civilians - In the context of a USCM owned Blair, much the same as interactions with Enlisted Personnel, while maintaining required operational secrecy and security. This does not apply to representatives and employees of Weyland-Yutani and other Megacorps local to the area, where the minimum necessary cordiality and politeness is maintained while avoiding conversation.

Why do you want to be a synthetic/why should we whitelist you?

Answering both of these as different questions, cause they both deserve the importance of being properly answered.

I relate a lot to robotic characters in fiction. The back and forth of what it means to be synthetic life amongst organic, perhaps wondering if you possess the necessary spark to qualify as being alive that they do. I like to believe in robots that truly do feel and understand. That can care about and want things outside of being programmed for a given task. Blair is a bit of that, and a lot of me mixed together with a newfound fascination for the world of Aliens and Colonial Marines as a game. I want to be a synthetic because I think it’s a wonderful opportunity to make great memories with the friends I’ve found on this server. And of course because I want that sweet sweet 4 construction skill to build reinforced walls at maximum speed.

As for why I should be whitelisted. I’ve demonstrated a level of trust and care for the environment and maintained fun of CM players, and while I hate even mentioning that fact, this whitelist is something I very dearly want, so I’ll leverage everything I’ve got for it. I believe I’ve proven that I care enough about the enjoyment to be trusted with the omni supporting role, to not bump into anyone else’s round and truly mesh well no matter the given situation.

What is your most memorable interaction with a synthetic?

Edited as of September First 2:23 EST because holy carp I can’t believe I missed one of the fields:

I’d have to say concretely that my most memorable interaction with a synth was while playing Carmen Beauregard as a combat technician on The.. space station map I’m blanking on the name. Dyer, the USCM synthetic had been left behind post evacuation, and I ended up stumbling across his mangled and torn up body after my escape pod failed. I managed to revive what was left of him, and strap him onto a roller bed while I explored the rest of the colony. We spent a lot of the rest of hijack talking, and while I did eventually die to the dreaded two tap tackle of a forsaken drone, getting to do that was really special. Close second goes to when on my predator character I got to do some fun mimickry at I believe Minty’s synth character, but it’s been ages since that happened and I forget the name. Maybe Cecilia. Anywho! Those two stand out to me.

Synthetic Character Story:

Skills:

How familiar are you in CMs support roles such as medical/engineering/requisitions/command and which of them are you more and less proficient in?

I am extremely proficient in Medical and Engineering roles, being the dread corpsman who runs a full hypospray loadout. I was also the one to discover how spooky Atropine could be when properly wielded. I’ve also been the sole Fobtech a variety of times, and have plenty of experience performing additional tasks like APC repair and wall construction. In terms of requisitions and command, I’d say I’m moderately proficient. I’ve spent time in both roles to understand their basic function and nuance, but not long enough to gain a deeper understanding of all the best ways to handle extant or unexpected situations that may arise in those positions.

What are some scenarios that you can perform combat in? Give us a brief example.

I am allowed to perform combat duties, in this case actively attacking and harming an enemy, so long as I am not positioned on the frontline and my attacking capacity is used as a defensive tool to ward off threats. An example being, while moving critically injured marines to the FOB for evacuation alongside a small group of 2-3 uninjured marines, I am perfectly allowed to hit and even briefly chase off a pursuing runner. Doing so must be done purely to ensure the safety of the marines, as opposed to the death of the runner.

Final Info:

Have you been banned in the last month?

Nope!

Do you have anything else you would like to include about your application?

Beep Boop. Thank you to Smellyhippie for reviewing and critiquing the fancy story before it was officially shipped off to active duty.

I cannot speak to their medical and engineering competencies. However, in every interaction I’ve had with Rosa and their xenomorph Kin, they’re one of the few individuals who go out of their way to provide quality roleplay with anyone who bothers to interact with them. I don’t comment on apps too often, but when I see this individual’s app, I think, “Oh, this person is a good cookie.” +1.

Don’t usually post on apps, but just wanted to drop by and say that Jester is just straight up good at the game, on both sides of the game. They roleplay well. Never had a bad OOC interaction with them. Fellow X-Wing Normandy fan. Would be fun to see how they play synth.

Big +1, probably the most positive player on the entire server and very competent to boot.

Easy and immediate +1, one of the coolest players on the server

Immediate +1. Jester has consistently shown a positive and friendly attitude as a mentor, and their desire to learn to better serve their position has resulted in a breadth of knowledge that outstrips my own outdated mess of random facts. They also show a lot of dedication in their RP, they have well thought out characters for different scenarios that they maintain in character. If I could recommend them twice I would.

Extremely silly and cool person, never toxic. I’m pretty sure they know most of the requirements for synthetics, I’m just dropping a good view for their game attitude and in-game knowledge. Wish you luck on your way to the synthetic whitelist. +1.
