So, I just found out the Jima flag is a sentry, and so I had this idea. Let us use the sentry upgrade to pump it up and emanate a large light and/or also give a wider buff radius. We’re actually missing the opportunity to give it a camera too so the lazy doctors in medbay can watch it.
Seriously, this is a missed opportunity, no one uses the Jima flag because it’s weak compared to other sentries, and I think buffing this wouldn’t be so bad, after all, its power is relative to whoever’s next to it and won’t be as OP as buffing some other sentry. You know?
Visually, I think it should be bigger and animated if it gets buffed.

Honestly, that isnt that bad of an idea.
The Jima flag is there for 2 things.
- AOE order buffs
- FLAIR!
So giving it some more flair definitly cant hurt.
A small ligth, a cam could definitly fit.
To make that properly work though it would need a visual update to look the part.
But the range i wouldnt buff. Well, the base flag maybe to be more a middle ground between warbanner and extended. So the upgrades arent flat upgrades.
Also, the flags are already animated.

The thing is, you can currently use an upgrade kit to make the radius of the flag’s buffs very massive. An upgrade with a wider buff radius is one of the two upgrade options already available for CTs

Over on the post regarding Synth changes @RainbowStalin suggested a possible change to the Jima Flag where it functions as a paradrop flare. I think it’s a great idea as getting flares for paradrop can be such a pain even when comms are up.
