Violated Rule 2 - Survivor Sanity and Rule 10 - Escalation. Improperly escalated to lethal force as a survivor after being incapacitated and detained.

I had spawned as a CLF survivor who got the autogenerated story of being an amnesiac who can barely remember anything (this should probably be fixed in the code). I lost my hostile status relating to the marines and was engaged in CIC for a lengthy period of time. I can see now that I mistakenly overlooked the part of the rules where survivor mental instability is just for roleplaying purposes. At the time I had assumed mental instability would imply a reduced threshold for what would be considered self-defense. Since my character had been threatened with violence and it was implied I would be killed, then upon being incapacitated and detained I had decided that it would be realistic for my character to interpret that as life-threatening and respond with lethal force against the detainer.
I understand now that survivor sanity cannot be used to justify a substantial decrease in the threshold of what can reasonably be considered self-defense. I have reviewed any rules relevant to this. Survivor is one of the only roles I play, and I would like to continue playing as one in the future.
