I know we can’t add more tapes to CM for legal/copyright reasons but having a loadout option to make your own custom mixtape from what we got would be cool.
How it’d work is you’d select the option from loadout, then a popout menu asking for which 3 songs you want on front and back. Then in game the cassette tape is called “(Playername)'s Custom Mixtape”.
You could swap tapes with your meta buddies and praise/insult their music tastes. PEAK RP.

That being said- I dunno if the code base supports this. Seems like actually having music from outside and not from game files would be weird and potentially a lag-machine.
We can’t even have pictures in announcements, because people abuse it. I am sure that nothing ever bad will happen out of custom mixtapes where you can put your own deepfried ASMR shit.
Just make a blank mixtape cassete that shows colorfull music notes around your sprite, but without actually playing anything, thus you can listen to something on YT and RP that you do that in game and if you want to share it, LOOC link.
how would you abuse a custom tape? you cant force people to listen to it
You can just trick them by saying it is a lit song, or something. It appears to be working in a way that the client downloads whole song before playing, that is why you get a lag when playing it only in the beginning and then you can rewind as much as you like without any issues.
Wait till staff responds, I’m pretty sure they are forced to treat any kind of player input as potentialy malicious.
The idea proposed was having the in-game tracks already available in a custom tape, nothing from outside the game.
Something like a “Surprisingly blank tape” that enables basic rich presence which detects if you have or don’t have music playing in the background and sends the UI button presses to windows as media keys would be nice and only require a small amount of interfacing
It would serve as a catch-all for people who want music that’s copyrighted, and on the topic of cassetes: Could we get the ability to pre-load or cache (& hash) an entire tape? I hate mid combat lag spikes but I keep forgetting to run through the songs.
