I think req should play a bigger role in the spirit of logistics. Marines should no longer be able to refill their own mags or ammunition boxes. Only req should have the skill to do so, that way marines are 100% reliant on req. I’ve seen those pesky marines carry the 600 round ammunition boxes. No marines should carry that much ammo, it goes against the spirit of the game. A marine should only be able to carry at most 5 mags and resupply every 5 min back at fob.
I’ve seen the medical change this will go well with it.
Indeed, the new gameplay loop will involve marines dropping their empty mags in box for intel to fulton up or to be dragged back to the alamo. Req then acquires this box and filled these mags with ammo then drops back down to fob. Rinse and repeat you got a full logistics simulation going.
Why should the Xenos miss out on the fun? Make drones more involved in logistics, too, by disabling plasma regen on any caste that uses projectiles – carrying around infinite acid/gas just isn’t realistic. Let’s get that baby bird bucket brigade going.
Remove req, marines should pack for FOB and 2 hours round by themselves, we don’t need those ammo hoarders anyways. What does req do entire round beside emptying out prep ammo? Terrible environment for newbies
I think half the problem with req is their budget is so limited you cant experiment…and just buy the same 4 crates
I wish that they tied engineering back into requistions. Even if it was the old “power beam” to generate cash… it would be so cool if you could continually generate budget for req to truely unlock their potential.
Finally let them experiment with buying off spec gear… like generators or additional surgery kits.
Don’t worry, there’s some good ideas here on how we can add gameplay enhancing and fun logistics mechanics to xenos too.
I have my own suggestions:
How about we limit the overall plasma supply for the hive. Once the hive has used up 10,000 or maybe even 15,000 plasma, then that’s it. They’ve used it all up and will have to play the game without any more. Perhaps even a healing limit also? All healing should probably require a drone at the very least to do it for the xeno player, rather than all xenos being able to heal without any resupply or logistics chain. This will dramatically enhance the lacking xeno logistics gameplay and really make the game more fun to play.
Furthermore, weed nodes should require constant replenishment by drones to keep them working. Perhaps every 5 minutes a drone should have to ferry a node regenerator from the hive core to a weed node, establishing a working logistics chain that enhances the xeno requisitions and supply routes, which is practically non-existent right now. That makes things much more interesting as the only weeded areas will be the ones constantly supplied and maintained by xenos where they think it’s absolutely necessary rather than carpeting the entire map. I think it would be a very fun experience as xeno to have this brand new and exciting logistics system, asymmetric to the marine logistics but similarly mirroring the beautiful tedium on the marine side.
With enough work we may be able to introduce spreadsheets and a database for logging purchases made by CT’s, RO’s, hivelords, and drones. Maybe even an accounting course as a pre-requisite to play these jobs?
Why the fuck should riflemen get loaded magazines handed to them like babies? Are they toddlers we need to hand feed?
Are grown 20-something men incapable of feeding themselves?
We should make it so every marine needs to hand load each magazine, but to make it even more realistic we need to change it from 8 bullets per handful to 1. Individually hand loading each bullet into all your magazines will exponentially increase soulfulness and also provide much needed balance to the game. All people do is sleep and go AFK in the Alamo, anyways. What kind of bullshit LRP crap is this? A real marine should be USING their prep time to PREP!
