Make Chem. line Chemical dispensers energy buildup or amount scale with playerbase

As Title says. There’s no way possible to serve 10+ medics with the current chem level with high pop, taking down the speed of making chemicals until 3rd drop even. I’ve heard this be a complaint for 2 weeks atleast by multiple doctors and medics.

One could say go to research for it but the doors to research chemical dispenser requires permissions and also is required by researchers for plant mutations and etc. Or make it atleast like a timebased that first 20 min energy refill is boosted.

I’ve regularly seen admins push the button to refresh energy to 100% for chemline in highpop rounds. This shouldn’t even be an ideasguys and is a nobrainer.

Yeah ngl, just make FE and IA standard and it would eliminate a good chunk of the chemline requests.

Ideally, you should be doing 8 pill IA and Fe on highpop to accommodate everyone.

While increasing the energy generation would be VERY nice, saying this as a chemline enjoyer myself, this would only make the reliance on chems worse. One of the goals of the medical rework coming soon™ is reducing the importance of chems and shifting towards field treatment with new equipment.

So as of now, as much as it pains me to say it, I think the power is fine. When you run out, especially if you have two people in chem, someone should go prep ORs/make raw unga/put injectors and pouches on medstorage table for marines/go give GP and DP rollers/go get nutrient for FN/go ask research for atropine and make a mix for HMs/just chill I guess

Edit: Also don’t be afraid to ask research to network Fe, they have more than enough power on round start and can spend 20 seconds making 4-6 bottles.

Quick calculations for reference (edited, were completely wrong):

IA and Fe take 24 power per 16 pills, so that’s 12 per 8 pills

MB takes just 4 power per 16 pills (use the sink for water!!)

KD takes 8 power per 16 pills

If you can use forced nurse labor, you can do a 120/120 FN mix for just 12 power per 16 pills

Your typical highpop HM essentials come out to 12+12+4+8 = 36 power, or just 24 power if you ask research to vend iron. That’s 8 kits you can do roundstart if you get lucky with sci, or 5 if you’re not, not even accounting for power restoration.

Why does water cost energy, again..?

I kinda agree with what you meant, but then there’s the thing about making half filled bottles especially Iron as there will be alot of blood loss in battlefield. I sometimes rather than going 240 iron per pill bottle go for 160 or 200 to save energy.

Other thing that NEEDS to be adressed is field doc making chems for themselves WHILE medics are still being given their medicines. Field doc can always ask ship to send down chems/ pills and whatnot after. All they really need is oxy for surgery and their bonegels, all other pills are not needed to be fair as you can do eye and brain surgery to fix eye and brain damage rather than wasting chem. dispensers energy on the pills. Also prep room has oxy bottles to fill your pressurized canisters to brim with it for surgery.

I agree that it can be problematic, but I do think this is where research should come into play and vend some. The rework goals, if I remember correctly, were to make blood bags a bit more important. I could actually see a world where a bloodbag could be continuously squeezed by the person holding it to speed up transfer speed at the cost of fatigue.

Whenever an FD is taking chems before drop or making their own mixes… Yeah, that’s a common decency problem, if the fridge is not full of stuff for HMs already. Plenty of things to do as an FD before drop that don’t require chem. I do typically see FDs just helping the line, however, so I don’t know how big the problem really is.

Thank you very much and fingers crossed that it’s gonna work and be approved. Also I’m sure the future medics, doctors, nurses and all gonna be greatful aswell
