Otherwise deathsquid would probs not respond to a explanationless distress siren, well maybe tbh, since a WY ship calling for distress might be bad marketting. But wat if the distress signal was for something relatively benign instead, like being out of fuel, broken navigation system, lack of food or crew. That y it makes sense to send pmc or security first tbh

Having the marines successfully reach a space station with a somewhat intact spaceship feels like a marine minor. Like in the planetside nuke instance, it leaves you with a dead groundside, xenos killed, and a clean shipside.
I would rather have the ERT always hostile, with different ways to clean the ship. Pirates, CLF, UPP, death squads, CIA, grenade worshipers, feral xenos, etc. Marines get to fully wipe the xenos still, but xenos get to take the marines down with them. I guess it overlaps with SD but it still feels a more fitting end for a xeno minor then marines and their ship make it to safety.

Actually I just realized that we do in fact have deathsquad ERT.
WY commando ERT is a lowthreat version of the deathsquad.
Why don’t we have other low threat deathsquad ERTs? Low threat UPP commandos can’t even cloak, they’re easily weaker than WY commandos.
