Make MARSOC Blackguard, Add real Marine Spec Ops.

Currently the MARSOC in game is an incredibly 2000’s era bunch, with their night vision goggles total black outfits and weirdly british rifles, they don’t seem like they really fit in as a normal marine unit, they seem more like blackguard from the RPG, which is an elite spec ops unit that only those working for the rogue and corrupt Commandant Vaughn know of,

Instead i think we should take the Marine Special Forces name and apply it to a simpler, less tacticool team, based off the mainline MSOR.

In the RPG these guys represent the Special Operations unit of the Marines, they’re better trained and have gear similar to what regular marines have (though compared to almayer that means they have HEAP and good stuff) these guys would fit in a lot better compared to current MARSOC.

I like this idea however their is only one issue. Blackgaurd is not as a cool name as MARSOC.

Also I agree they are very 2000s and could use a makeover. I thick we still keep the black color but maybe make their armor look less CoD with all the stuff just glued to their armor.

I mean we’d still technically have MARSOC just they’re not the 2000s larper guys and instead are elite marines.

legend states that if you kill 3 T3s, fix IB as a rifleman, call in an OB that destroys the hive core, and perform the konami code from the CMP’s office, you get promoted to marsoc

I dunno if I believe in that stuff, but…

Sin eaters get an obvious +1, Blackguard commandos would also work for specops, but sin-eaters work better I think since they arent connected to Vaughn

Meh, being ‘2000s’ is their charm. They look super odd and thoroughly unusual, as expected from such an outfit.

The problem is they’re 2000s, we’re based in a 1970s-80s retro future aethestic, having guys that look like they’re from the 2000s is like having a modern soldier in an otherwise normal WW2 game, it just doesn’t fit the style or aethestics.

I think it’s fine for them to not look like normal marines. After all their the best of the best. I just think 2000s era stuff look bad. Well except for being in all black that part can stay.

Just get the person who did the black CIC armor the go ahead to make the new uniforms.

I want to keep the current MARSOC as Blackguard from the RPG, as that’s the all black illegal paramilitary deathsquad lead by UA’s top military people, while we add an actual Marine spec ops dressed like actual spec ops (probably more casual then normal marines or even FORECON)
