Make the G-4 fuelpack better please

What’s the issue with the G-4?

Everyone here knows what a M240-Incinerator is. The ultimate male fantasy of setting shit on fire. A weapon of pure awesomeness and general marshmallow toaster.

But in contrast, the G-4 fuel tank is in a sad and miserable state. Most marines with some time under their belt knows that it exists, but I think people often don’t even know what a “G-4” even is by name.

It looks cool, feels cool, but you sacrifice a backpack slot for pure drip.

That is because right now all the G-4 fuel tank does is hold 350u of napalm in an interior reservoir and hold up to 3 additional Napalm fueltanks inside of it, meaning it provides up to 650u of napalm for your Incinerator.

In comparison, a basic IMP backpack can fit 7 Napalm fueltanks inside of it, meaning that a more versatile backpack that can fit anything else you might need or want is more efficient than the backpack built specifically for coupling the M240.

Almost no one ever uses it, even I use it only for mostly the drip factor, you are giving up too much for too little in exchange.

What could make it better?

Make it what it’s supposed to be: The non-SPEC version of the Broiler-T.

The cooler G-4.

I’d suggest personally to remove it’s ability to hold extra fueltank and reduce the inner reservoir to 300u of fuel, but in exchange add the ability to clip the M240 into the G-4, freeing the armor slot for any other gun that the user may want to.

Wouldn’t that be OP because of (insert X xenoagent response)?

Maybe? I’m not a balance-ologist.

But consider that it is one of the least used REQ-specific backpacks in the whole game (from a personal experience, so I could be wrong), and usually REQ only has 2 to 4 of them depending the population, so it wouldn’t affect the game balance at all, while improving what the G-4 is supposed to be in the first place.

Thanks for coming to my TEDtalk, just let me carry a fucking M37 and M240 without being a pyro SPEC.

Just let me set shit on fire AND buckshot xenos while also looking cool man, please.

The ability to store the flamer on the tank is strong, but not so strong all fuel tanks need to be removed. This would honestly make it overall worse then before. Because then you cant have any other fuel. You need an additional storage container if you want to use another type of fuel.

Maybe it would work if the G-4 internal tank is able to fuel the flamer. Basicly allowing people that fully comit to the flamer, to have a larger “mag”. Just like the Broiler does.
Its a huge sacrefise in invetory space like you said. So huge, that just letting you store the flamer on it aint gonna cut it. Cause your bascily the same of, if you just put the flamer on your back and grab a flamer fuel pouch.

I just take five tanks of B-gel in a radio pack tbh
regular flame is SHITTTTTTTT

Regular flame is fine.

The fuel backpack definetly needs a buff. I take general belt pouch and fit three fuckin tanks there, why is a belt superior to a backpack

Maybe you could make backpack like a quasi-holster rig. M39 gun & mag rig already fits on armor just fine.

we should make the G4 overpowered, let it project a longer stream of flame, and hold a ton of fuel, but, in exchange, I propose a counter to balance it out

Backpack tanks are awesome as hell, they’re also obvious as hell

Literally what would ignite the fuel? acid?

I’d say that you could touch up the description of the item a little bit to say that it has a weird, quirky, whatever-ish oxygen compressor that allows the use of the same unstable mode that is in the underbarrel flamer… And well, make it allow the use the unstable mode on the flamethrower if you have the backpack on, it’s not a big request given that the unstable mode is quite fuel-hungry and that it makes no sense that an attachment that goes below the barrel of your shotgun can make a more powerful fire than an actual, dedicated flamethrower.
