What’s the issue with the G-4?
Everyone here knows what a M240-Incinerator is. The ultimate male fantasy of setting shit on fire. A weapon of pure awesomeness and general marshmallow toaster.
But in contrast, the G-4 fuel tank is in a sad and miserable state. Most marines with some time under their belt knows that it exists, but I think people often don’t even know what a “G-4” even is by name.
It looks cool, feels cool, but you sacrifice a backpack slot for pure drip.
That is because right now all the G-4 fuel tank does is hold 350u of napalm in an interior reservoir and hold up to 3 additional Napalm fueltanks inside of it, meaning it provides up to 650u of napalm for your Incinerator.
In comparison, a basic IMP backpack can fit 7 Napalm fueltanks inside of it, meaning that a more versatile backpack that can fit anything else you might need or want is more efficient than the backpack built specifically for coupling the M240.
Almost no one ever uses it, even I use it only for mostly the drip factor, you are giving up too much for too little in exchange.
What could make it better?
Make it what it’s supposed to be: The non-SPEC version of the Broiler-T.
The cooler G-4.
I’d suggest personally to remove it’s ability to hold extra fueltank and reduce the inner reservoir to 300u of fuel, but in exchange add the ability to clip the M240 into the G-4, freeing the armor slot for any other gun that the user may want to.
Wouldn’t that be OP because of (insert X xenoagent response)?
Maybe? I’m not a balance-ologist.
But consider that it is one of the least used REQ-specific backpacks in the whole game (from a personal experience, so I could be wrong), and usually REQ only has 2 to 4 of them depending the population, so it wouldn’t affect the game balance at all, while improving what the G-4 is supposed to be in the first place.
Thanks for coming to my TEDtalk, just let me carry a fucking M37 and M240 without being a pyro SPEC.
Just let me set shit on fire AND buckshot xenos while also looking cool man, please.
