Basically make the lightweight pack (backpack storage but can be opened like a satchel) more available for your standart unga, stocking it at the riflemen (and maybe SL’s, engis and corpsmen?) for 45 points, and maybe stocking 1-2 at req.
I don’t think you need to buff marine storage. Esspeccially “unlimited” upgrades you get through squad vendor.
I like the satchels but hate using them because they are ugly
This went opposite route to why imp removed. Maintainer said something too much storage with no downside, especially for medics.
Isn’t the lightweight combat pack pretty much the CLF satchel? Would be pretty weird to have CLF equipment given out to marines, and balance-wise it would essentially give marines two extra storage places with no drawbacks as you can usually get the other things from the vendor at req, provided that you’re fast enough.

You can grab a backpack for the same amount of storage. Making the lightweight packs available at squad vendors would be a minor buff/QoL at best, and a noob trap at worst since those 45 points could be used for AP, a B18 or medical hud. Don’t add extras to requisitions and it should be balanced, i don’t see many people begging for the sniper smock/SADAR rocket bag anyways.

There are a ton of sprites for it, and for balance-wise you could make it squad vendor only.
i think the idea of sacrificing facility of access for extra room in your storage is a good trade-off.
if you really need more inventory space we could make a backpack that is harder to access but as more space in it than standard backpack…
if you lack supplies on the front and it bother you be the supply guy for your squad get a req com and some bino to direct supply drop on the front…
marines have some tools to get more supplies…
If this is just a replacement/inbetween for a satchel, just call it an Assault Pack
We had it, it called IMP backpack and removed for too much space without drawback.
What we really need is someone to buff the sprite of the marine backpack to look cooler. I just use the technician backpack.
The IO’s backpack is very cool.
