I don’t think it was my VM this time, b/c I’ve had 0 issues since the first stickyban was lifted. So it has to be my IP.
I generally use a VPN to avoid throttling, but then I generally am @ home w/ my personal WiFi. However, I am currently deployed to UNDISCLOSED LOCATION and there’s a base-wide WiFi network. I use a VPN on this because of the consummate amount of pornography I browse & also general privacy. Well, my permaban got lifted (thank you) the other night so I decided to play.
I knew the WiFi would be slow w/ my VPN connection in (Undisclosed Location), but I didn’t expect 350+ ping constantly. Gunship Pilot got unplayable, so I disconnected, did a speed test, and w/ my VPN on I had 5mbps, without the VPN, I had a more reasonable 20-30mbps. So I said fuck it and reconnected without my VPN.
Fucking incredibly someone else at this base plays Space Station 13 I guess, I’m going to find that pussy and scalp him for ruining my glorious return to the server
