Synthetic

Description of the incident:

Setting the stage:
Map: Hybrisa. Marines had south LZ, it was about 2 hours in, marines were defending both comms and a bit more. It was a bit over the 2 hour mark. With me as crusher, NU as defender, and a drone I cannot remember, we were attacking the northern comms so they do not start fortifying it. A pylon would have been nice too. This comms was in the caves just south and touching the locks between the north LZ and south LZ. A marine threw VERY well done firebomb, forcing all of us on fire, killing the drone, and me and NU just barely escaping. We were now north of the locks on the road, 6 tiles up.

The event:
Finn came from the north of the road, with one or two marines. What were they doing in the backlines north? don’t know. Finn says something to them and I might have been put out in time for marines to not see me, but either way we were not escaping from synth nightvison. as the 2 marines are coming down I am putting out the flames then going into crit on weeds. Finn goes and stays right by my body, while NU is defending both of us as best he can.

The rulebreak:
so far leading backline marines to us, and him hoving over my body while NU protects us are technically not rulebreaks, even if there may be an argument to a synth trying to get the alone backline marines to avoid us instead of standing right on my crusher body. The real rulebreak is Finn destroying the weeds I was on while I was crit. Luckily, he destroyed the weeds right as the last crit tick resolved and so I got up and with NU’s help managed to escape. The marines got lost in the dark and Finn couldn’t chase us alone.

What was the reason for trying to kill a crit xeno? Why was he just hovering over my crit body until he managed to break weeds under me? We didn’t even have the strength to be aggressive. Can synths find and kill weeds under dying xenos in the backlines?

Finally, I want to dispel any reasoning of: this is out of character for him, or he didnt mean to break weeds under me, or he rarely does anything aggressive, or he rarely takes a small group on some adventure. I want to state some of the things he was doing in rounds just before this. I want to be clear: I am not mentioning any of these to be looked into or argued over. I am not claiming he did any rulebreaks with these. I do not want the focus of the report to be about these. In any response to this report I won’t be talking about them again.

As Finn he trapped the queen in cades.
As Finn he lead 2 marines in hijack to fire axe bash a sentinel, then lead them to kill the hive core despite a carrier nearby, then went to engineering to bash and kill a resting sentinel.
As Joe Dafoe he personally killed a mature queen with support.

My logs are not much because during the time I was crit. I did not screenshot my fight or take a video.

Hello MHVO! Finn here. Nice to see your weekly report. To answer a few questions:

We had just gone to medbay to get limbs for the other synthetic, Autumn. I see you and alarm him that you’re nearly dead. He goes after you, in a 1v2. I stand by in case he needs help. That’s why I “hovered over you”.

Yes . Weeds are not restricted from being killed under any circumstances. Maybe if the weed is allied to the marines, or are otherwise exceptionally chill weeds that roleplay well.

Hijack :point_up: + no relevance to the report, so why mention it?

Here you go man:

On a separate note, I’d like to point out for any eventual staff reading that MasterHavoc has been nagging me over the course of several rounds today, actually harassing me in the rounds 26407, 26408, 26409; on separate roles (pictured below in order), followed by the report in this round 26410. That is four rounds of active malding. Given the nature of this, I do also believe this was more so a report of passion more so than a genuine belief I’ve done anything actually punishable.

It is fair that I put in my feelings of how the classes should be in those works, masked by my versions of half-joking half-my real feelings. If the game rules WERE my way, they would be written differently. They are not though, and I respect the rules that are in place with my only rebellion in forms of snarky comments. I did not report because of passion though: I reported because I believed you committed something that goes against the rules set out. Much like my other reports when denied, I accept the decisions by the admins at the time and do not make another report, like the other times I saw synths go into the backlines, alone, take out a pylon, and leave. Whatever the council decides here stays as a permanent ruling like how I treat my notes and my other rulings: I can point to this post and say: this is what the council decided, look at this forum post. Much like if a medic says anything about how chemistry is made, I can go into my admin notes, point them out and ahelp, and say this person broke the rules, here is my note proving it is against the rules. And yes I have done this in example for xenos who tried to negotiate with marines: I would ahelp with my notes posted.

Passion or not: what the admins decide here determines all future rulings of synths destroying weeds on crit xenos to try and kill them.

Edit: cmon, calling me “john synth reporter” ingame and ‘Nice to see your weekly report’: you have snarkiness too. Let me keep my snarky replies, just like you do too. Also thank you for taking the time to edit and submit the video of the case.

The council has investigated the claims and evidence provided, and found no wrongdoing with what you have reported. The player however has already been suspended for a different infraction.

This report is considered denied.
