Enforcement Action Taken

Description of the incident:

During 29027, I spawned in as a CLF support synthetic on the nightmare insert.

After spawning in, we had some chatter over the radio over the course of action when we then decided (after my suggestion) to wall off the east and the south of our crashed ship with reinforced walls. Everyone was content with this plan.

Once the walls were completed, I began reinforcing our barricades when suddenly someone yelled out over the comms that the south was breached. I ran over, and saw the walls breached as they had been turned into regular walls. I didnt take any problem with this, I thought it was funny and I kept on playing on with my round. I ahelped, asking why the walls were degraded just wondering why they were broken (I almost never use rwalls) and he said that it was metagaming. I didnt want to deal with it in the moment so I just let it go. ^I got noted for meta-gaming here

After about 15 minutes, we found ourselves driving across the colony engaged with various small groups of marines. The first marine we killed, Lynn Linton was calling CAS on us. I stripped her of her equipment, then threw her at the FOB instead of keeping her in the jungle so as she can get revived and isnt round removed.

About 10 minutes later, we’re trapped in the sand temple in our van engaged with about a group of 6 marines. Several of us skirmish and kill a few, a few of us are killed in the process. I am constnatly driving the van trying to provide cover for the CLF and running over close-by marines. During/after the commotion I purposefully grabbed a corpsman with a radio-telephone pack and put them in the van. I stripped them of their telephone with the intention of calling some sort of a cease-fire in where I would return the hostage and the dead CLF would be repatriated to us.

I am alone at this point, there are marines outside trying to disable the van and I am busy juggling driving, communication, providing cover for my CLF teammates, and eventually attempting to revive the medic. At some point, everyone but myself is dead or incapacitated. The medic inside the van begins flashing and the moderator decides to PM me this: “Dont put marines into the van to prevent their revival”, mind you I am driving the van, getting shot at by marines outside, and when I notice him go flashing I begin to defiblirate him when the scout specialist enters and drags him out. I assume he perma’d outside the van as he didnt perma inside. He was flashing when he got taken out. He still had one minute left.

In short I feel like i’ve been treated unfairly by this staff member. I just like to play survivor to have fun and meet some of my friends, not with the intention of griefing marines or meta gaming xenos. The role of survivor obviously heavily relies on mechanics of BOTH sides, survivors are aware t2s and t3s come at a certain time, xenos are aware that survivors are rushing for certain spots for loot.etc My usage of R-walls was regular with survivor gameplay, and one cannot argue it is metagaming when there are chestbursted bodies inside of our dropship. We are locked behind fog for 30 minutes, Rwalls at most will hold untill 00:22 ish.

Additionally, the permaing of the medic in the van was caused by a multitude of conditions, being the last CLF survivor alive, having to drive the van and dodge marines, being weary of marines breaching in, all while contacting CIC over the phone. My top priority is not reviving the medic, it is making sure myself and my teammates dont die. Additionally, as already mentioned above I made a conscious effort to make sure marines we killed did not perma. Such as the case earlier with Lynn Linton in where I had carried her, personally to the FOB where she was sure to be rescued. The notes applied are worded in a way to portray me as some sort of griefer/metagamer and I do not believe that I have violated any rules and believe that the staff member was infact, acting in bad faith.

In HVH people will perma, people will lose limbs, and some people will have to sit out for 20+ minutes, but that does not mean that one party is held liable for griefing or acting in bad faith.

Evidence:

Edit: Watching the video again, you can see the moderator decides to ahelp me to ‘make sure’ im not breaking any rules only 20 seconds after bringing him into the van. It seems wrong to do something like that.

Below is a video from the same round showing the incident with Lynn Lynton in where I returned her to the marines to prevent her perma. My intentions was supporting CLF and respecting good-faith gameplay. Not permaing random people and trying to prevent revives as moderator notes put it.

On another note if its relevant, taking her equipment was nescescary as she was trailing us for 5+ minutes calling CAS strikes on us. Removing communication equipment and gear to loot was mandated.

Hey there, @medeelel18.

Just as Marines are not allowed to decapitate captured CLF or prevent their treatment to ensure a permanent death, similarly, CLF survivors are not allowed to take dead Marines as their hostage into a van and wait for them to die permanently.

You stated that your intention was to take the medic as a hostage but a dead hostage serves no purpose. Before staff reached out to you, you had made no effort to revive the medic, as we can see in the video. If you want to take a Marine hostage, you must either capture them alive or make an effort to revive them once captured. If you’re committing to taking someone hostage, then it is your responsibility to ensure they don’t die.

Upon reviewing the logs, we found sufficient evidence to justify the warning you received. We do not believe Vending Machine committed any misconduct in this situation.
