Description of the incident:

I was playing as burrower and noticed that some of my acid traps in virology were triggering, hoping to find a lone marine clearing weeds or attempting to fix the generators, I tunneled nearby and burrowed inside. Upon appearing I saw only a synthetic and planned to go about my business reweeding caves and was immediately attacked. I stopped what I was doing to initiate a conversation, as I had no intention of fighting them and expected some sort of roleplay or for them to disengage since I wasn’t threatening them, but they continued to attack me regardless. Only after they had dealt significant damage to me did they ask, “was your trap meant to harm me?”, (the assumption that it was my trap, or that it was specifically meant to harm them doesn’t seem like strong enough justification to attack me, especially considering that I had placed it over 20 minutes ago)). The clip takes place at :41 in the round and Molly had already made contact with the marines. Immediately after the clip ends, I run against the wall north and begin to burrow to safety, which is when a previously unspotted survivor comes up and hits me with an incen slug. Since I was at such a low HP as a result of Molly hitting me, I burn to death and sit out the rest of the round. I received many varying opinions on this incident and decided to make a report since it felt very out of place considering all my interactions with synths up til now, so I would like to have this clarified. If there is a rule that states why this aggression is warranted then I’d be happy to know as to avoid dying like this in the future.

Evidence:

Video showing the first contact I had with Molly and the instance at which they attack me.
