Have you read the role guidelines and expectations?
Yes
Why do you wish to become a Fax Responder?
I wish to become a fax responder because many times I have been in the position where I have sent a fax and received no response. Even if it’s just a status report or making an inquiry, it can be frustrating to not receive anything. I used to preach to everyone who played CL that sending faxes was a waste of time because 90% of the time you wouldn’t get a response. People of this mindset are discouraged from using a great RP tool because they are unlikely to receive any communication. I want to change that.
What do you consider the purpose of this role?
I consider the purpose of this role to be not only a driver of RP, but as a resource in regards to answering any questions. I believe this role can encourage people to, instead of ahelping an issue, make a fax about it (obviously this depends on whether or not the issue is worthy of admin intervention).
Same question I asked the others. Per the rules of the WL, you may only call the Almayer under EXCEPTIONAL circumstances What would you define that as?
If I was a Provost faxer, and I saw an Inspector abusing their powers, I would phone the MP to alert them of this and advise they take swift action.
Another example is if I needed to relay urgent information and for whatever reason, the person was not near or was unable to access a fax machine. I.e. I need to contact the CO but theyre deployed to tbe ground, I might call them. However, I would attempt to contact CIC first via fax before resorting to this.
Outside of these two examples and events, i do not see any other reason to call thr Almayer.
As WY, I could tell the CL to get copies of some research chemical (assuming a good one was made that round) and have them fax it back to me and a photo of the chemical. I could have the CL attempt to negotiate with Command staff to include ad spots in their announcements or do the same with the CC. The CL could be tasked with doing a flavor sampling experiment, see whats souto drinks are preferred the most in order to maximize profits.
As CC, I could have the CC do an interview with a select person, maybe a CLF or an insane prisoner. I could also have the CC film some shipside event and record the details, i.e. MP making a controversial arrest or some requisitions line drama. Another good task would be to have the CC follow around a crew member and document their job, similar to Dirty Jobs. The CC could also be rasked with doing an exposé on the USCM and collecting as much evidence of wrong doings and other malpratice.
