After speaking with a staff member, I’ve decided to make this report. ASO took it upon themselves to blow up the CL’s office after it had already been breached and the CL was in custody; all of this and the ASO was supposedly excited to do it. I understand wanting to dunk on the CL (I like it too) but going out of your way to just blow the CL’s office up for zero reason is unnecessary. It’s also a violation of ML as at no point did the XO (the commander) authorize it. The ASO also then, during hijack and while I was being revived (and with xenos literally banging at the office door), proceeded to shoot me and then started a fight with a survivor for a reason I’m not too sure of. Apparently this ASO was also just not performing their duties as an ASO either.
Yeah so first off I was the XO, and I made some rash announcements that I probably should have not done, Heres what happened on my side. The groundside operation was totally fucked up, we got two incen OBs and the Squad Leaders were not very competent with OBs, we used both OBs and the front stalled for the majority of the round and we had to hold fob for a siege. but yeah anyway most of my attention was to the ground operation and it was a total cluster fuck.
Well between the times when im not locked in on the cameras and radio i hear snippets of information, I get told that the CL is harboring a marine that refused to deploy and he was set to arrest for desertion I was also told that the MPs tried to brig him but the CB helped him escape no big deal just a little conflict. Well at some point things deteriorate I didnt know this at the time but one of my SOs left the cic and used C4 on the CLs office, (I didnt deputize anyone the entire round just keep that in mind.) And apparently shots were fired, I really dont know what was happening but all i was told that the CB shot a SO with lethals, so i raised to red alert. At this time I had no clue the Staff Officer was just going around and blowing the CLs office up as I was way too busy with the operation and had a understaffed cic. Apparently the ASO was going around as well and just gunning people down and blowing up the CLs office. I made several announcements to stop fucking blowing up the ship after I heard explosions and was told someone was using c4, despite me saying that it kept happening. Well then I get told the CB shot and killed the OT and a CMB deputy both of which apparently never happened or so im told and was just made up? Yeah I dont know I got told the CB was just going around the ship shooting people apparently I got feed false information to by the SO and the ASO. the SO and ASO also was too busy chasing the CB down to do their job (I forgot there was a second SO because he left CIC and never came back) and I had to frequently ask the ASO to load the OB and they didnt respond.
so yeah conclusion the round was a cluster fuck, i got fed totally incorrect information about the Hikwari ( the one reporting this) I did not ever authorize the usage of C4 on the CLs nor did I ever deputize anyone that round. the ASO and the SO was not doing their job and instead chasing down the CL.
Not related to the CB issue but rather the other duties part;
I had woken up late as QM at about 00:26 or so, went to req, saw they had a FOB crate in the works and said I’ll take over crates. They said the crate wasn’t ready yet and it was just missing MREs and Flashlights (it was only ammo, grenades, WP rockets and SG drums, no metal or flares either). I said I was going to make a new crate anyways and went to get a spare crate from the northwest room, seeing they were all gone I asked the ASO where they went and the ASO said “down the lift for money”. Different people will play the same role differently of course but when I walk into req to an ASO not letting me take over and had spent my starting resources on WP rockets and not metal or things for FOB- (they never even sent flashlights or flares down in the FOB crate either since it was full, instead of removing the loose WP rockets or SG drums) bothered me. I didn’t want to start an argument or anything so I just let them carry on and cyro’d. I watched them for a minute or two and then was back and forth between observing and something else till a thunderdome event happened.
I do not think they were malignant at all in the other duties part, people play it differently and are different skill levels but it always annoys me when I join as a QM and an ASO or SO decline to let me play my role.
Before hijack I saw the CL pod was open and office raided after the XO ordered their arrests. Once hijack began I entered asking if I could evac with the CL only for Hikari to be brought inside with the ASO in tow and a synth there, and then the ASO just began shooting at the CL for some reason? I was merely a rifleman and I was shot with slugs twice to three times during this crossfire which ended up harming me a lot more than both the CL and the warrior breaking into said office. I can confirm there wasn’t really any justifications as far as I could see to be shooting the CL and breaking into their office as the captain never ordered the usage of C4, but admittingly I did latejoin the moment arrests were ordered.
