When mentoring someone groundside, I tend to focus on explaining not just how to do things, but why they’re done that way; especially with cades. Trust is something that can’t be fully given; it has to be tested. You can’t know for certain how someone will shape up unless you give them the chance to prove themselves.
That and the way I carry myself when playing is a big part to do with respectability based on my ability to do that specific area of skill. I wouldn’t apply here and spend every day playing CM and trying to produce the best cades I can if I was to throw it all away to be a mentor who was known to be a shit teacher, no one would listen to me ever again.
