I’ve always felt that, as experienced players, it’s our duty to make new players feel welcome and have an enjoyable experience. Any way I can facilitate that is fantastic, and there’s really nothing better than a new player becoming a regular. My absolute favorite thing is seeing people I’ve taught become a part of day to day CM, because it means I’ve done my job in ensuring their first rounds are at least not horrible!
I generally do my best to teach newer players, and I think being a mentor would better equip me with the tools to do so.
What gameplay areas do you know and which areas are you strong and weak in?:
By far my strongest area of expertise is medbay. I’m confident in most roles/departments, but my weaknesses would be intel and spec/SG. I know how intel works in that I’ve helped out once or twice as CMO, but I don’t have much experience with it. I’ve never touched spec/SG outside of events.
For xenomorph, I’m fairly confident in my abilities of most xenos. The exceptions are probably ravager and King. While I know how both work in theory, I’ve never bothered improving in rav nor have I ever played King outside of local hosting for test purposes.
How often are to able to play CM?:
How much I play CM can vary on how busy my schedule is, but my minimum is usually 15 hours per week.
A screenshot or transcript of your human and xeno playtimes:
+1, They are a good player, have the knowledge and a good spread of hours in all the castes and roles. More than capable to teach or help new players. I see them around regularly, good RP, even tho they spit too much acid at me when they play xeno
I don’t know them personally, but based on what I’ve seen, they would be a good addition to the team especially with their solid Xeno playtimes, which is pretty rare in applicants.
Kaz has been a long time player of CM, played with them a bunch in game. Seen them wipe out marines as queen leading the hive, and seen them be based back when still had APC.
They are knowledgeable in lots of different parts of the game, super chill and easy to get along with. When playing important role I see them doing their job very well, when ship-side they have pretty good RP and maintain a ground character.
Easy +1 from me.
Based off of the hours alone I could +1 this app, but I’ve already seen you helping out a few new players already (typically in medical). Hope to see you join the team soon!
DLC has taken to the K9 WL with the gusto expected of Synth WL members and the knowledge that anyone would expect of anyone in the medical realm. I will +1 them firmly as their knowledge and attitude as displayed fits what I would expect of a mentor.
+1, Kaz was literally one of the people who first taught me medical on this server back when I was new. Not only that, but they also introduced me to some SS13 mechanics that I didn’t know at the time. She is the one of the main reasons I’ve come to love medical so much here. If that doesn’t scream mentor material, I don’t know what does!
Kaz has always been extremely helpful and willing to teach in any of my interactions with her and from what I’ve seen second hand, not to mention she is always friendly. Solid +1
They are well-versed in the game, and I have seen them go out of their way to help and teach new players, particularly when playing shipside medical. I trust them to teach marine or xeno skills to anyone and think they would make a strong mentor
