Character Name(s):
“Kaith ‘Firebat’ Thane” when I play as a marine, almost every time.
“MAV” when I play as an evil xeno.
Why do you want to become a Mentor?:
Simply put, I love this game and the community surrounding it, and having been around CM for a few good years by now, I want to be a part of helping the newer players learn to both play and enjoy CM13 as others have helped me before, especially because I enjoy helping new players during regular gameplay already when I get the chance to do so, and having access to mentor and SEA role in game seems like the next step for leaning into that aspect.
What gameplay areas do you know and which areas are you strong and weak in?:
I’m most comfortable in marine/human roles, both at combat and auxiliary/support roles.
When not UNGAing at the front as a rifleman, I main both Comtech and Corpsman, and I have a solid grasp on how to play both roles such as repairing broken down APCs, Comms, cade theory, IB surgery, mass burn patient treatment, diagnosing organ damages, etc.
On shipside support roles, I know how to play most roles, such as medical with surgery/equipment usage and chemical pharmacy, engineering as MT on ship maintenance and building/replacing non-usual equipment as new Autolathes. I also know how to acquire and process intel both, how to run REQ smoothly (QM is my relaxation role when I don’t want to play combat) and even play from time to time as an MP with a good grasp on how to run the Military law and SoP. I also am capable of playing direct command roles both as XO and SO at the CIC and everything that involves (squad management, OB, intel purchase, TACMAP usage, etc.)
On Xeno, I’d say I have a good general knowledge of what each caste is able of doing, and how their interactions work in the game. I know how to play almost all castes, the gameloop of building, capturing/nesting, how pheromones work, and what strains do what.
As for weaknesses, I must admit that there are roles I don’t know the in-and-outs because of my reluctance to playing them. I know how to set up and use CAS, but GP is a role I don’t particularly like playing due to the dice roll nature of it. Both Research and OT are roles that I know the bare basics of. For xenos, my weakness is that my knowledge is mostly superficial due to me being a marine main, especially when it comes to specific numbers on stats, cooldowns or ability damages.
How often are to able to play CM?:
Usually a few rounds per day, although this can vary depending of my irl schedule.
