Ive been a member of CM for quite a while now, Ive made many friends and acquaintances with the members of the community. I want to be able to contribute more to the community and help maintain CM for future generations of players. I have helped people to learn to play in the past and I quite enjoy it, and getting mentor will give me more tools to help teach new players.
What gameplay areas do you know and which areas are you strong and weak in?:
Im very knowledgeable in the squad roles, I know medical and engineering very well. I have a lot of hours in MP and have a ton of experience in it, pretty much know marine law without having to look at the wiki unless for niche circumstances. Im experienced in how to operate CIC, the tech tree and how to call in orbital bombardments effectively. CAS and Research are by far my weakest areas for human side of things. For xeno I have a pretty decent understanding of the keybinds and abilities for each caste, how they play and where best to use them. I will admit I could definitely get my xeno hours up and I plan on doing that but for now I have a decent understanding of it.
EDIT Forgot to mention I also know nothing about OT
How often are to able to play CM?:
Started a new job but I could probably play 5-10 hours a week.

John Kilgore / Burnsides is a real veteran, I have no doubt that he has all of the knowledge one could need for mentor. So long as he can maintain the attitude expected from a mentor i have nothing much more to say but a glowing +1!
A long time player of the game and member of the community, i do recall moments where sapper have helped out new players and took it seriously, i belive that he would be a great mentor and a good example, an easy +1
Kilgore has a bit of reputation in the community, but I think his conduct in game makes him a prime candidate for mentor. He is both a robust player with a lot of experience, and someone who doesnāt takes themselves too seriously, always happy to help others. I personally have been the beneficiary of Kilgore teaching me a few times and I was always impressed by how well he was able to communicate through the very flawed chat of SS13.
The amount of interesting RP scenarios Iāve seen this man come up with is amazing, its always a pleasure going with and expanding on them anytime I am involved. Has many hours in plenty of roles too
Hey dude! Iāve seen you quite a bit in game. Burnsides is hilarious, quality RP, youāre a long time vet, youāre a pretty friendly guy, and you definitely have the knowledge. That being said, I do get the impression that you donāt have a lot of tolerance for people who are ābrain deadā. A lot of newbies you run across as mentor are cheerful, earnest people who are happy to learn. But you do get some who havenāt run across a system as complex and esoteric as SS13, and get frustrated and embarrassed because they feel stupid, then get cranky and start blaming the game. Do you feel confident enough in your professionalism and patience to mentor people who need to be told 7 times how to open their inventory before they manage it, while theyāre getting more frustrated with every attempt?
Additionally, with regards to conduct outside of an official mentorship capacity: itās very understandable to be frustrated at people for playing in ways that hamper the round, but mentors do need to interact with people in a way that encourages learning. Iām not saying you have to be a perfect saint to join the team, but can you see how a mentor calling command idiots OOC would discourage new command players from asking for help?
Iād like to reiterate that I do think you have many qualities that would make you a suitable mentor! If you do get accepted, then I look forward to working in the mentor mines with you. If not, I look forward to seeing you and your shenanigans in game!
my usage of āBrain deadā was a joke about the minesweeper minigame as everyone was saying it was an easy game to play, Which I disagree. I would never call a new player that. I have never said anything to put down a new player in game or out of game due to their lack of experience. I have taken many times out of my round to train brand-new boots who didnāt speak English and it lasted over the span of an hour and I never lost my patience. I feel like this was a joke and lighthearted comment taken out of context and I donāt like or appreciate how it insinuates that I frequently talk down or call new players ābraindeadā when thatās not true at all.
I donāt recall recently ever really malding OOC about CIC or calling them āIdiotsā but I can assure you it wont happen while Iām mentor. I will be open and criticize CIC but I wonāt go out of my way to put them down. I feel confident as of now that I can uphold the professionalism of Mentor and teach new players with respect. Iām sure you are aware my past behavior has been problematic, but I have done a lot to improve it, and Iām quite of proud of how far Iāve come. At the end of the day Iām passionate for this game, I want to be there to teach new players to pass on the torch, and I will do everything in my power to do that.
+1, dude is an RP legend. Almost every time i play with this guy, i end up leaving with a smile, or being invested into his gimmick myself.
Good Command and ML knowledge, never had a problem with him as an engineer or doctor. Would be a good addition to the mentor team.
Difficult to think about what I wanted to say here!!!
I wonāt be long-winded. +1 Make good RP interaction choices and opportunities like when Burnsides established the Joe league of voters and became president. I believe in you, Killer of Gores. Keep it fun, keep it funky, but keep it (f)tasteful.
