Marine Questions
- I’m a smartgunner, why can’t I wear my armor and eyepiece?
The reason you cannot wear your SG armor is that it does not allow you to wear a backpack or a satchel. Your backpack slot must be empty, though there are designated SG backpack attachments, such as a machete.
For the eyepiece, you must clear your ocular eye slot of any accessory. Google’s, glasses and other cosmetics.
2.How do I use an under-barrel grenade launcher?
Either you look to the top of your screen, there should be a symbol with a grenadelaucnher, click that to activate it.
There’s also a way to hotkey it. Go into your settings, under hotkeys, there you will find “toggle underbarrel attachment”. You can set it to any key you like to quickly select the option to use your underbarrel grenade launcher.
3.Why am I moving so slowly?
There are multiple reasons for your slow speed.
The first option is that during combat you have recieved multiple frectures. Those are trated with splints, if the splints are applied to your limbs, especially your legs and chest, it will slow you down with more splints.
Another option that could be a reason is that youve set your walking speed to ‘walk’ by accident.
To deselect it, look to the bottom right of your screen and select the big option that says ‘walk’. This should put it to sprint. If it say’s sprint, it is not the problem.
The last option that i can imagine is that theres a bug with movement speed. TO fix it, lean against a wall for a moment. To do that, you simply walk next to a wall and drag your character towards it. Then simply walk off it. If it were that issue, it should be fixed now.
4.I’ve died. What can I do now?
If you died as a marine, depending on how youve died, you can be retrieved and revived. If that is not an option, you cannot play Marine for the round, unless Foxtrot reinforcements are called, which you can roll for. Otherwise, you can enable the Xeno queue and join their side for the round. You just simply need to wait for the packing order till you are egible to respawn as 1st in the queue. Another option is to play Fachugger or a lesser. Both can be joined at anytime if theyre available to join as.
You can also hope for a special ERT to pop up and play as an ERT role.
The last option is to play in hunting grounds. But those only happen during rounds where Predators are enabled.
If you die as Xeno, it’s the same as I’ve said before.
5.How do I emote?
There are two ways.
The first is to open up your hotkey menu and search through the emote section and simply set it to a key.
The other option is to type ‘*help’ in chat and typ out the emotes that are listed there. You must always put a “*” infront of the emote words so the game notices that you want to emote.
Xenomorph Questions
1.Why does resting on weeds sometimes take so long to heal me?
Xenomorphs have the ability to emit pheromones. There are three different pheromones you can emit as Xeno. Those are frenzy, warding, and recovery. Pheromons can only be emitted by drone casts and their evolutions, including Queen, with the exception of the Valkryre strain of the Preatorian.
The pheromone recovery increases health and plasma regeneration. There are different tiers to pheromons, too. It’s bound to the cast class. Drones only emit medium-rated pheromons while T3 casts like valkyre emot strong. Only the Queen can emit very strong pheromons, which are the strongest of the pheromons, meaning it has the highes amplification of Xenos recovery.
The other option to increase health regeneration is to lie down next to a recovery node.
Its a Xeno structure with a purple oval on top.
2.I was a ghost, but now I’m a larva. How can I go back to being a ghost?
Go to your tabs, top right of your screen, select OOC , and search for the option “ghost.”
Press that and you leave your body. But make sure to turn off the Larva queue, as you might get drafted again as larva.
TO do that, go to your settings, to the special roles tab, and turn off “be Xenomorph.”
3.What does ‘Toggle Directional Assistance’ do? How do I use it?
Its a helpful tool for Xenomorphs that struggle with hitting their slashes on Marines.
Instead of tile/sprite clicking, alias clicking the marine directly, which can be hard during combat for less experienced Xenos, it adds the ability to click in the direction of the marine, and it automatically slashes the marine that is next to you in that direction.
4.Why aren’t I gaining evo?
To gain evolution points, the Queen must be on Ovi.
The only exception that there is to gain evolution points is that the Queen bought a major evolution boon.
But that’s a more late-game mechanic.
So usually, you must wait for the Queen to go on Ovi to gain evolution points.
5.What are strains and how can I access them?
Strains are specializations for a specific cast.
FOr example, the lurker can pick the strain ‘Vampire’. This changes its playstyle as backline cast to a more flank/frontline cast.
This applies to different cast as well, not just Lurker. YOu can check either in the Wiki for more detailed informations or you can read a quick overview of the strain when youve selected the strain.
To select a strain, you go to the Tab “Alien” and search for the option ‘purchase strain’.
There are all available strains are listed for you to pick from. But be aware, some casts do not have strains.
Simply select something, read through its brief description, and press select.
If you don’t like the strain, simply select ‘reset strain’.
Though be aware you can only do this once, before a rather long time prevents you from switching between another strain.
Miscellaneous Questions
1.How can I apply highlights on chat messages?
On the top right of your chat tab theres a settings button.
Click that and go to ‘text highlights.’
Put in the words you want Highlighted and press ‘apply now’
2.My HUD just disappeared, how can I undo this?
Press F12 and if that doesn’t help go into your hotkey settings and search for ‘ Minimal HUD’ hotkey and look whats binded to it. Then press that to get your Hud back.
3.I have found a severe bug. How can I report this?
Top right of your screen. Big red button with “Submit Bug” written on it.
Fill out what you have to report and submit it.
4.What does ‘Enable Playtime Perks’ do?
It shows your playtime as ‘ranks’.
Medals for marines and titles for Xenos.
Bronze,Silver,Gold and Platinum
Mature,Elder,Ancient and Prime
10, 25,75,175 hours per rank.
5.Can I change the colour theme?
Iam not sure exactly what’s meant with that, but i assume its related to the UI?
Go to your character menu and navigate to settings. Go the the UI Customizations and change the style or colour however you like it.
