Xeno:
Hey there, and thanks for applying! I played a round with you today where you worked as a CT. You made people fill out a form if they wanted a motion detector. I’ve got to ask, why a form? Why specifically motion detectors, and not anything else? Several people were upset about this decision; what made you decide to continue?
Additionally, you made a player report a while ago; do you have any thoughts on it now?
What would your drill sarge energy look like as SEA? Do you have a specific character or manner in mind with which you would teach?
Regardless of your responses, I’d like to thank you again for filling out the application. Have a good one!
As CT yesterday, the intention of the forms was for anything that the forms reasonably covered. Guns, Attachments, MDs, etc. Magazines and the like are not something where a from would be necessary. I was inspired by a colonial guard trench op where the armorer made everyone fill out much longer forms for everything, and it seemed HRP. Probably wont do it every round, just a gimmick for the occasional CT round. For the player report, was a while ago and i was a bit upset due to it being WO, looking back i see i was a bit stupid in making it. The character i would use as SEA is my normal one, who is on exchange from the colonial coast guard as some sort of program. I would act like a coast guard drill sergeant, issuing PT, Yelling, etc.
Thank you for your interest in applying to be a mentor. We’ve looked at your history, including both discord and ingame, and while I personally haven’t interacted with you often, I do remember how you were perceived by the community. You are known to be quite LRP in interactions, and the community has come to know you as ‘the drunk mortar guy that killed marines’ due to your B.E incident. I haven’t seen any remarks either ingame or in discord that indicated you are ready to be a mentor.
Furthermore, your response saying that you would yell at privates and issue PT indicates that you have not read the mentor code of conduct or understand the spirit behind it. While SEA’s are expected to maintain high roleplay standards, that does not mean we encourage reenacting Full Metal Jacket Hartman when it comes to new players who are already overwhelmed as is trying to figure out their basic controls. You are expected to be patient and understanding, and often times you will have to repeat certain instructions to get your point across. Yelling at them and giving them PT will only add on to their stress, and they will disconnect from the game entirely.
Combined with your lack of activity in CM and low playtime hours, I do not think you would be a good fit to be a mentor. I suggest you work on your behavior, reread the mentor guidelines again and build up your playtime hours before you submit a mentor application.
Hey, sorry for the somewhat late reply! I wanted to give the community a chance to throw in their thoughts.
My sentiments echo Husky’s. A few bad rounds shouldn’t define your reputation, but they do, because the community doesn’t know you that well except for those few incidents. The only thing I’ve heard about you by asking around is that you like trolling people. Additionally, I waited until posting this because I was hoping someone would show up with a good story about you, but nobody has. If your application does get rejected but you’re still interested in reapplying in the future, I would recommend playing more often and interacting with others in a more positive capacity. Be kind! Be friendly! You said you really like helping people, so help people!
Unfortunately, I’m putting in my -1 here. I don’t think you’ll never be able to make mentor, but I do think you’ll need to put in the work to show that you’ve changed.
