While it used to be ahem a certain group of COs who would take the whole armoury of AP, recently I’ve noticed that its become copycat behaviour by other XOs and COs to just loot every Mk1 ammo. Ive played a few rounds recently where the CIC armoury plus req and the hanger mk1 is unloaded and cocked dry.
Firstly holy shit, you really dont need that much ammo if your going to be leading people.
Secondly, when its hijack and you’ve got SOs still in CIC, they do need to just be able to pull out a gun that works well enough on its own as unless they rush for it they might not have time to reach a normal gun vendor. And the shotguns really aren’t an acceptable replacement weapon considering they’re only really able to effectively deal with a mere half of the hostiles you might face.
Finally, for req, it feels scummy to just run in and loot wordlessly. I mean, im pretty sure we made synths do the whole song and dance for asking for med supplies for the same reason. I know they’re a commander and whatever, but it feels LRP to not talk or communicate what your doing or getting?
I think a restriction on mindless ammo hoarding would be worthwhile.
