MST's food provide marine buffs similar to orders.

Gives MST a reason to continue cooking even after deployment / when most roles are focused on the operation.

Encourages work between RE and MST, and also gives a good reason for them to deploy to fob other than FOB buffet

This is not a good idea, Can’t wait for people to optimise the fun out of a chef just roleplaying.

Chef cooking a Fast food RP? He is wasting his role by not using the most efficient food combo to give the most buffs with least amount of raw food!

Yea, it’s kinda weird to do so. Adding some miniscule or minor buffs would be alright, but anything that’ll be even remotely impactful on the round, as said by the person above, will just kill the job.

it wouldn’t be huge, definitely not equal to a SL’s or especially a CO’s.

It would be something small that would encourage eating actual food over MRE’s

Better idea MST food gives you more nutrience per item then MRE’s. That way you can carry around one smaller bit of food instead of an MRE.

already exists, you can get 60u of nutriment into a flask and drink it (for reference, protein bars contain 8 nutriment)

Daily reminder that we already have sweaty brats coming into SO just for the shiny skillset + mk1 and then we see them cryo upon getting their deployment request rejected, RFNs that rush deep into the colony on their own literal seconds after the 1st deployment just to rush thermals, medics that go armed to the teeth and that click on the “medical corpsman” icon on the latejoin menu just to heal themselves faster on the frontline, among other shit.
There is no goddamn way that we won’t see sweatlords harassing the MST just so they can get their tacos that will give a 5% buff to pain tolerance deployed on the frontline dropped 24/7.

Some marines already have a mental breakdown and try to beat the hell out of John 1hr-of-Nurse if they don’t have UNGA five minutes into the round, the MST would need to have a full MP security team if they want to actually cook something enjoyable and not get their head stuck on a bayonet.

That and the MST already can make food that offers more nutriment/contains chems if they so wish, it just might require you to get a lil creative with botany or opt for some more extensive recipes.

MST handled security beacon & goon squad when? :joy:

That is already a thing (kind of).

Make meat/tofu kebobs and after you eat it, you get a metal rod. Combine few of those and you can weld them together for a metal sheet.

Chilly dishes heat you up, so in case of getting hugged and rescued while loosing your mask, you can still survive cold maps for a while.

Milkshakes and ice cool you down, so you can chug a bit after getting FF flamed.

Those types of buffs would be fine as they barerly, if at all, impact direct human vs xeno encounters.

Anything else is bound to be powergamed and metagamed.

You already can take those candy bars from vendors that contain one unit of tram each. Tea removes toxic damage and such.

What we really need? Give MST med skill to use syringes. Then he can inject his food with whatever chem he can get his hands on and then food can provide buffs in a worse package than just swallowing a pill.

I mean this sounds like a good way to get the 800 grams of pure human suffering that all pro gamers must cause a day. As it stands I have to do stuff make player sign paperwork as QM or play MP to get my fill. Recently I have had issue getting to 800 grams and my KD ratio as lurker has really gone down as a result. But it would better to deny power gamers their cool food and get my dose.

The only buff it should give if it does become a thing is a super light healing buff, like a super watered down tricord. Even then probably a no since people would start making min max requests in which would lead to new mst’s getting attacked or old mst’s denying the order due to them being rude and such. Just doesnt seem healthy to apply that to such and RP heavy role. Hell I have been attacked by a marine because I didn’t let him use the gibber on a fellow marine once. (He pulled his gun shot me once and I quickdrawed my pistol and mag dumped him before he put more bullets into me.)

Nutriment already has very minor brute healing in addition to its nutrition and blood restoration.
