Nerf combat synths

Combat synths are unironically killing machines. Hence they are working just as intended, they were never meant to be easy targets.
And hey, that time the CLF synth got in was fun. The shittalk between the synth, command and MPs that happened on comms because the synth stole a headset was epic.

upp, clf synths in the RPG and in lore are fucking dogshit and their intention was never to make a tank terminator
they are made from substandard parts (in the RPG)
in lore the UPP have old working joes and david synthetics (AKA OLD)

This is true.

But like with most things that are true. It all comes down to a ‘When You Code It’.

If someone were to code it that UPP and CLF synthetics are sub-standard compared to USCM or other top of the line Synthetics (such as the illegal WY combat synths) then I am very certain you’d be able to get that added to the game.

Wouldn’t that just be numbers coding though? Just balance around the numbers to make them more similar to a normal human toughness wise.

Synth lobby will never allow this to happen.

They finally have a chance to metatarget the marine who been annoying them the entire round (help me)

tbh if we added some sorta permanent damage to synths they’d be doing less goofy stuff due to backpack damage reduction… and before mofos jump on my dick saying but synth takes ages to heal! You can literally ask a guy with welding gog’s or IA to heal you to full instantly. This isn’t accounting for the repair stations and the bag.

TLDR: Give them something like fracs I guess? : /

Limbs being disabled requiring engineers interference, due to one of the hydraulic systems within the arm malfunctioning therefore as a safety measure its disabled to prevent further damage to the arm.

As a result the arm is required to be operated via engineering tools from another person or it will require a synth maintenance machine which is destroyable.

Synth will now have to rely on other players so it can’t be a literal independent destroyer who just wiped a fireteam as it fixes all its wounds with two tools.

Honestly yeah. Giving synths malfunctioning arms and legs like how robo limbs got it could be a good change. Makes them less of a “there is nothing between 100hp and -99 hp”.

I agree.

You got your wish, say goodbye to combat synths apart from events or deathsquads : )

sht is real, when 90% of the people disagree with that change but a small amount of people decides that their opinion is more important, do they even care about what the community thinks or they just add things that they think that are good changes, it would make sense for a paid or free game that the devs get money from it, but it is a goddamn community based game that the devs of the same community based game don’t give a shit for what the so “community” thinks, so they add or change some stuff that a huge amount of players don’t agree with it and that is it.

Sadly this ship sailed like 4 years ago when techwebs were introduced.

Devs volunteer… so they mostly work on what they want to.

(A dev) actually told me to kill myself im deadchat after I didnt like a patch he did.

Is as it always was

EDIT
Tri libel removed. Sorry Tri! It wasnt you!

It is not a issue to work on what they want, the issue is stuff getting approved by their small circle when the community disagrees with it, not everything you work on should be approved, sometimes it is unbalanced or unfun.
I can understand perfectly when devs work on something, make a pr and the community accepts it, but this is literally some people that i don’t even know if play the game since combat synth is something that you barely will see ingame, most of the people on the post believe it is nonsensical to nerf combat synths, i myself already died many times to combat synths and i still believe that they should be ingame as a fun rare event just like it is, but then without making a voting for the community, without implementing small nerfs to see if the community likes or not, they just decides what they need to do on their own without caring about what the playerbase thinks.
SS13 is a game overall built on contributions of many devs, the same way for CM-SS13, most of it is open code, and everyone can make their PRs, but only a part of the community is able to dev, maybe they are not even that active ingame and they don’t represent the community opinions, so how can they do takes on stuff, i am not talking about the owner, head admins, and other important roles that they got the community approval to reach these places and have proven themselves toward the people and their peers, but maintainers don’t need such a thing, they need to work and prove themselves useful dev wise to the game, so how can such people without the community approval decides on important stuff to the game even if it is minor or not without consulting everyone else, the admins, the moderators, the owner or the people, can they just decide X stuff needs buff and X stuff needs nerf and that is it.
Seems nonsensical for a game that is built and made for the community to enjoy, everytime i open show staff, i see 1 maintainer or none most of the time, the forum says it got 13 people, so these 13 people that sometimes enter the game, can do takes that affects everyone on the community, on what basis?

idk I never cared about actual combat synths with guns as a xeno. You encounter them very rare and usually they are doing their own thing and who cares. Default synths without guns irritate me a lot more.

This is kinda crazy they got removed over an EVENT where admin DELIBERATELY spawned A BUNCH of them.
