Deimos ‘Mors Killshot’ Pax
Their BYOND key:
steelpoint
What are you reporting?:
Enforcement Action Taken
Description of the incident:
The report is related to a ban, but I am not appealing for the ban but moreso on the enforcement taken and the actions that led prior to my ban.
Reason: Ban | Grief | Executed another player who was infected and abandoned them, whilst insulting them. Issued 7-day ban due to extensive history of grief and rule breaks and inability to correct behaviour.
First of all, just so we are clear, I could not give a damn about the ban length or if I am deserving of the ban or not, but I do care about the act that steelpoint displayed during the conversation we had, if that was the case, it would have been a ban appeal to begin with.
Second of all, my problem is the reasoning outlined on the ban itself. First, it does not convey the complete scenario that happened, opting to place me in a worse light than the incident actually is.
For quick context, I, as the sniper specialist, was backlining with my spotter when we were assisting around SW LZ2 of LV-621 where multiple aliens were spotted and even made a backline nest there. While we were clearing it out, we found a bravo medic nested on the wall while a spitter was guarding them.
Naturally, my spotter and I made quick work of the alien, but my spotter still died valiantly at the effort, which left me at a crossroad of choices.
First, I unnested the bravo medic, believing that he could at the very least do some quick revival on my spotter, but before I could say anything they instead opted to use a stasis bag and a medevac right then and there. In COMPLETE ENEMY TERRITORY, might I add.
Thinking that a bunch of aliens might just converge on our location since there was a tunnel close by and a bunch of alerts like the cluster destroyed and the spitter died, I called for the medics attention to come with a few times, but they wouldn’t budge, still attempting to get into their stasis bag and medevac so I opted to just shoot them right then and there so I could come extract them later, while I extracted out with my spotter.
Eventually, I got my spotter revived and came back with a trusted squad member where in the process of extracting the mid-lining bravo medic, the body eventually disappeared. We looked around but were unable to find where they were in the end.
Fast forward a few moments and the admin PM pops up outlined in the evidence section.
Now, my problems stem from the entire process.
One, my actions were, in my personal belief, misconstrued in bad faith, even after outlining my reasonings for my actions which I considered valid at the time. While maybe shooting the guy was excessive, I should not have my actions disregarded and simply put as griefing.
Second, the random moving of the corpse was uncalled for when I and two others were literally in the process of extracting him when he was moved, if steelpoint was observing the body at the time, then he would have known this information and not have moved him at all, further reinforcing the idea to me that this act was misconstrued in bad faith and any attempts of conveying any logical conclusion would have come off as futile.
Thirdly, which is in response to steelpoints final message within the private messages is that I’d like to correct that while most of my notes were placed under griefing, this scenario should not have been treated as such since I had, to my personal beliefs, have outlined completely valid reasonings for my actions, and it would be difficult to get a “strong wake-up call” otherwise.
In the future however, I will take note that I will no longer be killing infected marines who are at risk of being captured again, alone in a corner of the map for their hubris when my life and my spotters were in potential risk, ensuring that I leave them to their own devices.
Evidence:
All of the evidence should be in the logs of that round, including the random deletion of the body.
“Hey. I noticed you executed a infected marine and abandoned them, I wanted to ask your rational
okay, heres my defense, that guy was literally trying to medevac on a stasis bag while my spotter was dead next to me while i told him to come with me since i knew he wasnt that late in, when he quite literally ignored my orders and knowing the burst changes, i could not and not want to risk his ass getting capped by any returning xeno for a net profit, so i figured killing him now and coming back would be better
Executing a infected marine literally does nothing, especially when xenos can just move the infected and now dead marine.
does it literally not halt the larva process somewhat???
a dead marine’s larva timer has never been paused while dead
awesome. even still they wouldnt have been able to nest them if they were dead i dont think
dead bodies can be moved by xenos if they are infected and will burst while dead as well
great so he just died for little reason then, but he was literally still retrievable by the time we got to him
i assume he got deleted since his body disappeared, though
In any case. Executing someone in a far corner of the map while insulting them as being useless is an extreamly sus thing for me to be investigating
I moved his body since it seemed he was griefed, and I am considering this to be a grief incident
i mean, by all accounts what would you have had me do in that situation
don’t kill someone
and just leave them for any alien to come, okay
You are not some new player, you are a veteran, and you’ve been extensively noted for this kind of behaviour. I’m going to issue you a 7 day ban, consider this a strong wake up call to get your act togther, you’ve had more chances than most.”
