Nothing wrong with having Echo as an option for command. Though it is and should always be their prerogative to implement it or not. I’d rather not have a few bad apple situations ruin it for everyone else.

Pablo_Excavator and CampinKiller already brought up a few examples, but you could also do cool squad specific loadouts regarding gear if you get the ball rolling quick enough at the start of the round.
Example: Heavy machinegun squad, IFF squad, stuff like that.

Echo has its place.
It’s a useful organisation tool, at the very least.
Removing Echo flat out it a net negative not a net positive.
If you don’t want Echo shenanigans don’t activate it.
