So we’ve got some linked records from other accounts that we believe may be tied to your account on CM. Could you please share what other accounts you use on SS13 if you’re unsure of which ones you’ve used (or have not used) to connect to CM? If you’re not comfortable sharing that here, feel free to send it to me in a personal message on the forums.
It seems as though the specific account you confirmed in DMs was used to multikey through the month of May back in 2023. We also have other accounts on our records with similar links to you, and we have good reason to suspect that they too have been used to evade on this server.
I can confirm that I ban evaded the a ban that was placed on my main account by playing on the second account provided in the forum message.
However I must deny the allegations of other accounts as I don’t have their registration emails in my inbox, I don’t have them in my password manager, and I don’t have them saved in the BYOND pager. They most likely belong to other ban evaders that I may have known or still know (though not necessarily while they were actively ban evading).
I ban evaded as I considered that ban too heavy-handed for what the offending material was.
I am fascinated by how it took 1 year and 5 months to find this out.
I hope I quit this game for good as I spend way too much time here (not the only one, let’s face it) and don’t return to ban evasion (too much effort) or get myself unbanned (hopefully I forget about the 6 month period where it would be theoretically possible to get unbanned).
I can understand your frustration with the ban placed against your account, and a desire to circumvent what you perceived to be an unjust punishment through evasion. We certainly don’t always levy out fair penalties, but obviously we insist you go about appealing unfair bans or filing staff reports rather than evading.
The evasion, as you have noted, is quite dated. Due to the age of this incident, and your cooperativeness with our investigation, I’ll let you appeal this ban in one month rather than the standard six. You may appeal this ban on November 30, 2024.
