I know that a lot of experienced players tend to switch out the Mk2 for something else (I.E MK1, HPR, Incen kits, ect)
I just wanted to ask, what is your opinion on the MK2 if you still use it traditionally and have more than 500 hours? Should it be swapped out for something else or is its accessibility good enough for a marine who just wants something standard for the round?
Or do you think it sucks and should be switched out for something else entirely from req?
Its only disadvantage is that its overshadowed by the Mk1, which for all intents and purposes is a superior rifle (and makes me question why the older rifle is better than the new rifle).
honestly just the fact you can run it with an angled grip and a m37 as backup or juggle is good enough. it has good dps, ammo isnāt scarce since itās the main weapon and you can scrounge up AP by just transferring bullets from M4RA boxes
its modularity is actually peak since the miniflamer is now good and the U7 can stun for long enough for you to pull out a buckshot shotgun and PB
Budget cuts and/or simplification of production during tense times. Plenty of real world examples where latter models were essentialy worse in performance, but cheaper.
Thompson (on which movie Pulse Rifle prop was mostly built upon) went from M1928A1 to M1 and M1A1. Transition removed mount point for famous drum magazine and reduced rate of fire.
not true
agrip mk2 with m37a2 is the single best loadout in the game for doing anything you want and you cannot do that with a mk1, that single attachment is so, so impactful
not to mention easier ammo availability (more AP magazines for MK2 than MK1)
every other normally available weapon is outshined by the MK2 in the majority of scenarios or should be combined with it, the MK1 is better if you plan on using a U7 or something like that but if you want miniflamer/agrip the MK2 is better and more replaceable if anything happens vs the MK1
even if youāre only using one gun, the MK2 still lets you use an angled grip or miniflamer and in the event you get knocked down you dont have to wait 2 million years for wield delay
MK2 is my favourite weapon. All you need is to hit your shots and you deal massive damage. With AP you can gib a prae with less than a mag. You can deal maximum of 1.320 damage to any target with 40 armor or less. In truth I think the more experienced players run MK2 due to this.
The MK2 is quite good but really is boring, thatās why players tend to switch it out not because its bad but because after the 200th round of having the MK2 as your main, it can get quite dull.
That being said part of the reason lads like the MK1 is that its better for pursuits and pointman, 100 round mag make it so you donāt really got to worry about running out of ammo at the worst time. also its got way better inventory management, you can carry the ammo you need well still having space for a belt MD or anything else you need.
so uhhh the MK2 is fine its just a all-round good rifle fine at most things but really there is better options for any given roll you wish to fill out.
The only reason I donāt use the MK2 over the MK1 as IO is because of the ammo quantity MK1 has allowing for more space for utility items. MK2 is a highly adaptable weapon, which is what people should use it for.
3 rnd burst compared to 4 rnd burst
agrip for multi-weapon builds
not a rare gun
better accuracy (and easier to choose RS, since u can agrip to instawield it when u take it out or pick it up and thus avoid losing ur gun more - unlike mk1 which you may want to hold out permanently, and just take MH instead. if u do this u may want to extend stock on mk1 - which may be necessary to gain accuracy)
but ya mk1 is still really good if u use it as your only weapon imo (and at that point - you only really need the space efficiency for liiikeā¦ corpsmen?). Long-range buckshot got buffed too so it kinda makes mk1 āworseā comparatively. For some loadouts, mk2 is simply better entirely, like if u want to put MH on a shotgun instead or want to run MOU. (altho u can argue the space efficiency makes up for the downsides even in a mou loadout - but thats a huge tradeoff of no ag !!)
but otherwise mk2 can outshine it bcus of the sheer versatility of ag rs as a combo weapon / consistent high accuracy weapon.
This is true, but it would be M41A2, as the techmanual calls the M41A the M41A1 a few times, and it doesnāt go M4A to M4A1. However we also use letters for modifications, so M41B would also work.
