I had the pleasure to partially view this series as a young child back when it first aired and in recent years watched the entire series. I even had a few of the toys. I think it is not bad for its time. Wanted to gauge what other people’s opinion of it was.
I have seen the tabletop sim game, and its pretty decent.
God.. The Battletech series, absolutely cursed and blessed at the same time. It’s kind of a community in-joke at this point due to how jank it is, yet at the same time how much of the battletech lore it includes. This series is somehow a faithful telling of the lore yet also the most 80’s slop you can imagine, including CGI combat scenes.
Overall I’d recommend watching it if you’re getting into Battletech, mainly due to all the meme moments.
Btw the entire series ends with the antagonist and protagonist having a epic 1v1 duel over the fate of the planet, with the protagonist winning, yet the clanners kidnap all the civilians because “Muh technically you didn’t do a trial of posession over the population.”
Excellent meme. Can’t agree more. @DaTimeSmog I assume you have but wanted to ask what is your opinion on Tex Talks Battletech? He reigned my love for the series.
