Description of the incident:
After giving thought to this, and suggestion from the accused, I decided to follow through on this.
During the round, I was playing as a Cargo Tech. While performing my job, the QM went and drunk themself to death. At the time, I was running the other req line. Upon being informed by a Corpsman about the QM being dead, I stepped away to let them in. When I did so, a number of marines (I believe they were from Kilo) came and followed along and then proceeded to tell me to order them a second mortar kit, that the Major told them it was approved. Not only was I now having to handle 2 req lines, I was also now being pushed and shoved around by other marines into ordered something. Needless to say, I, the player, was feeling overwhelmed, and so to was my character as she is an older woman and this was certainly a lot going on. While they were patient in waiting for the mortar kit to be ordered, as I had JUST purchased FOB materials, they also didn’t move to leave and continued to hang around. The environment was less than respectful. I expressed over general comms that I, as the lone person in Req at the time, was feeling disrespected by the whole situation. Once they left, I found out that someone had smashed a window and removed a window frame. From a character standpoint, enough was enough. My character wanted Requisitions to be shown some respect. Long story short, that never really happened. I asked the CE to repair the wall and they denied it, only doing so eventually after about an hour’s time. I acknowledge that it was unfair, from a player standpoint, to punish the groundside troops for the actions of a few and that I, the player, could have just decided to go into cryo and not deal with the whole mess in the first place, but it was the first round I played that day and was keen to just play a chill round in Req. Paisley, the character, also would feel bad about the inconvenience groundside faced from her actions, but things didn’t really involve much RP engagement from others so it really didn’t come up.
At no point, when the MPs got involved, did I deny that I wasn’t being an asshole about not sending supplies. I fully complied with the entire process of being arrested, however, there were obviously some issues stemming from the CMP. Upon being told I was under arrest, I was given no opportunity to come peacefully. The CMP proceeded to immediately handcuff me and aggressively grab my character, an old woman, and put them into a fireman carry. I was not being violent, I was not resisting, yet I was shown no common decency or allowed to proceed peacefully. Afterwards I was brought to the Brig, stripped, my walking cane taken away, and put into a cell. Then, before I was notified of my charges, the sentence timer was started. After the time started, the charges were stated.
According to the accused, I exhibited DASO towards them and that was their reason for denying me my right to the Yard. They reference me telling them about ML as the source for the DASO, which was me informing them that they had to tell me my charges BEFORE starting the timer and that they should know this. Especially so since they’ve been jbanned in MP roles prior. Furthermore, while I did take a few minutes to write out my portion of the appeal, from the time I completed and informed the CMP, more than 5 minutes elapsed and I never was spoken to by anyone about my appeal. Per ML, a CMP being busy with other tasks is not a reason to delay my appeal.
I don’t have a copy of the Appeal Form (PR301a) template in front of me, but I do recall reading that if there is a delay exceeding 5 minutes, the prisoner is to be let go. If I am correct that this true, then I was kept until my sentence was up, which exceeded 5 mins post me finishing and notifying CMP I was done with my portion of the appeal. I do recall reading in ML or some form of document, as well as being taught so in MP training way back when, that prisoners must be provided with food and water during their sentence. As the accused has stated, my comments regarding food, water, Yard were made AFTER I was let go. So I was unjustifiably denied basics, further exemplifying my comment that they didn’t seem to know ML. In the process of filing this report, I have gone through ML again and I can’t seem to find a mention regarding food, etc in the wiki, so it may have just been something I was told when I first started doing the MP role.
In closing, I believe I was treated unfairly by the CMP in a number of ways and denied the rights that a prisoner should have, despite being peaceful and compliant about the whole situation.
Thank you for your time.
