Description of the incident:

After giving thought to this, and suggestion from the accused, I decided to follow through on this.

During the round, I was playing as a Cargo Tech. While performing my job, the QM went and drunk themself to death. At the time, I was running the other req line. Upon being informed by a Corpsman about the QM being dead, I stepped away to let them in. When I did so, a number of marines (I believe they were from Kilo) came and followed along and then proceeded to tell me to order them a second mortar kit, that the Major told them it was approved. Not only was I now having to handle 2 req lines, I was also now being pushed and shoved around by other marines into ordered something. Needless to say, I, the player, was feeling overwhelmed, and so to was my character as she is an older woman and this was certainly a lot going on. While they were patient in waiting for the mortar kit to be ordered, as I had JUST purchased FOB materials, they also didn’t move to leave and continued to hang around. The environment was less than respectful. I expressed over general comms that I, as the lone person in Req at the time, was feeling disrespected by the whole situation. Once they left, I found out that someone had smashed a window and removed a window frame. From a character standpoint, enough was enough. My character wanted Requisitions to be shown some respect. Long story short, that never really happened. I asked the CE to repair the wall and they denied it, only doing so eventually after about an hour’s time. I acknowledge that it was unfair, from a player standpoint, to punish the groundside troops for the actions of a few and that I, the player, could have just decided to go into cryo and not deal with the whole mess in the first place, but it was the first round I played that day and was keen to just play a chill round in Req. Paisley, the character, also would feel bad about the inconvenience groundside faced from her actions, but things didn’t really involve much RP engagement from others so it really didn’t come up.

At no point, when the MPs got involved, did I deny that I wasn’t being an asshole about not sending supplies. I fully complied with the entire process of being arrested, however, there were obviously some issues stemming from the CMP. Upon being told I was under arrest, I was given no opportunity to come peacefully. The CMP proceeded to immediately handcuff me and aggressively grab my character, an old woman, and put them into a fireman carry. I was not being violent, I was not resisting, yet I was shown no common decency or allowed to proceed peacefully. Afterwards I was brought to the Brig, stripped, my walking cane taken away, and put into a cell. Then, before I was notified of my charges, the sentence timer was started. After the time started, the charges were stated.

According to the accused, I exhibited DASO towards them and that was their reason for denying me my right to the Yard. They reference me telling them about ML as the source for the DASO, which was me informing them that they had to tell me my charges BEFORE starting the timer and that they should know this. Especially so since they’ve been jbanned in MP roles prior. Furthermore, while I did take a few minutes to write out my portion of the appeal, from the time I completed and informed the CMP, more than 5 minutes elapsed and I never was spoken to by anyone about my appeal. Per ML, a CMP being busy with other tasks is not a reason to delay my appeal.

I don’t have a copy of the Appeal Form (PR301a) template in front of me, but I do recall reading that if there is a delay exceeding 5 minutes, the prisoner is to be let go. If I am correct that this true, then I was kept until my sentence was up, which exceeded 5 mins post me finishing and notifying CMP I was done with my portion of the appeal. I do recall reading in ML or some form of document, as well as being taught so in MP training way back when, that prisoners must be provided with food and water during their sentence. As the accused has stated, my comments regarding food, water, Yard were made AFTER I was let go. So I was unjustifiably denied basics, further exemplifying my comment that they didn’t seem to know ML. In the process of filing this report, I have gone through ML again and I can’t seem to find a mention regarding food, etc in the wiki, so it may have just been something I was told when I first started doing the MP role.

In closing, I believe I was treated unfairly by the CMP in a number of ways and denied the rights that a prisoner should have, despite being peaceful and compliant about the whole situation.

Thank you for your time.

I was the CE. Had more important tasks to take care of before the repair of a wall. I said my piece in the prior report. I will hold my tongue on this one.

Worth mentioning that had the wall been fixed, the supplies would have been sent. This was all asked before everyone started ordering my arrest.

It’s straight up been proven you were griefing, and it’s concerning you spend the first half of the PR trying to play the tune you’re a victim again.

For the timer being started before your chargers were stated:

You already ahelped me directly on the timer of the appeal and I responded to it on the Staff Report. I took a minute to find to find someone to handle it after you took a while writing it out. As I stated before it took me a while to find someone due to most of the officers ordering your arrest.

This is why I did not RP with you, nor care too. I was not going to ask you to come “peacefully” when most of the ship was clamoring for your arrest and you were being uncool. You were also very very uncool to me when I was extremely patient through your tantrum

You are trying to accuse me of breaking ML by not giving you food and water (when again you asked for it after)

For DASO, you were making multiple passive aggressive comments after being warned to stop. You insulted me multiple times by saying I knew nothing and could not carry out my job. Your yard rights were denied on that as I explained in game. I wasn’t exactly gonna go out of my way to do you any favours

At no point did I act unprofessionally to Park or deny them any right that they did not lose themselves through their own action. You are straight up lying in half this report but logs will handle it

For every other point I think I’ve responded on the Staff Report

Need to ask, who was handling the appeal for Paisley Park, was it the Major, or another MP?

It was Toffee the MP, (they said it was their first time handling an appeal) the Major could not as they had ordered Paisleys arrest.

Just to add for the appeal, I turned it over to Toffee and found out after that it was improperly filled out (no department handler ever put anything, as I thought the Major was filling it out but turns out they didn’t, nor did it ever get mentioned to me. I noticed after when I was preparing the bundle of faxes). The entire appeal was handled including the granted decision being said in front of Park as well. I didn’t oversee or step in even after the decision as you really can’t with an appeal. I explained the error in the faxes, filled out the department rep myself (after the appeal was granted) and sent it to the provost in the end.

Ah, so the appeal was granted by Toffee and Park was released?

the appeal was granted after the timer happened, so nothing really happened.

At no point did Toffee speak to me. I handed and notified about completion of my appeal at around 6:43 left on my original timer. I wasn’t let out until after that time passed.

Additionally, I looked at the Quartermasters sign just outside Req. Forgot to get a picture of the tooltip, but it’s probably relevant, thinking on it

Also worth mentioning that if someone in an MP role doesn’t know how to do the basics, like filing an appeal, then it’s a fault of the department head.

as I’ve stated before, multiple times, I took a minute or two to find someone. To specificly give you insight, I went from the CO down crossing off people who ordered your arrest, wanted you arrested, and the last person I found was the MP. The appeal handler is not required to finish the appeal in five minutes, the process just needs to be started which it was. As I stated before you already ahelped trying to get me in trouble and lied that I withheld the appeal from you and did not give you an appeal within five minutes.

The appeal handler reads your words you put in the appeal which I informed you of as well, and at this point I’ve said multiple times. Verbal appeals are long gone

per the MP not knowing how to do an appeal. A Staff Sergeant MP (gold play time I think) should know how to handle an appeal. If you could pull the specific ML or SOP area that says it’s my fault that’d be appreciated.

This isn’t even me just saying these things. You can find them all here https://cm-ss13.com/wiki/Marine_Law#Proper_Appeal_procedure as well as other tips on how to play!

I have nothing else to really add as this will just be a slop back and I’m starting to feel like a broken record

I will not have you filing a player report directly after having a staff report for the same incident closed.
