Enforcement Action Taken
Description of the incident:
During the deployment, I tamed a lizard on the way to hydro and was dragging it along with me when my friend who plays “John ‘Baldo’ Wheeler” was following me attempting to attack me and my lizard with baton slugs, I warned him nonverbally (showing held weapon, which was a flamer), verbally I believe, and fired a warning shot around him which he accidentally stepped into but was quickly taken care of and healed by a nearby corpsman, I saw that both he and the corpsman (an alpha corpsman who’s name I can’t remember) were whispering to each other and afterwards the corpsman and Wheeler were going in a verbal back and forth with me RPing that my lizard should die, out of nowhere Wheeler came up along with the corpsman, Wheeler and the corpsman opened fired which in the moment I believed was at me. In turn I fired at Wheeler, flamed him and he died while having hardcore mode on, which took me out of the moment completely as I was completely unaware he had hardcore turned on for the round, I ignored the corpsman as immediately afterwards I was messaged from and noted by Vending Machine who asked why I had killed Wheeler, and argued that I was breaking rule 10 for escalation.
My argument is that I did follow said rules for escalation for the situation as appropriate given the circumstances.
I personally believe that Vending Machine saw the situation on a surface level and didn’t give the appropriate attention to logs as one would given the situation or talk with the other members involved to get their side and clear up the situation.
And to note, although I do understand that it’s a small note to be given, having that attached to my record, albeit however small is not something I would like for my future in CM as it would make my time applying for potential whitelists down the road, more difficult.
Evidence:
Round logs as well as talking with my friend who plays "John ‘Baldo’ Wheeler as well as the corpsman who participated in the situation.
