Pills, no contest. Marines used to be able to spend points for insta-injectors but those were nerfed and later deleted from the game.
You can use pills while moving and you get more chems overall. I have no idea why people use injectors at all. Any advantage regarding metabolization is lost because you gotta stand there for 5 seconds anyway as your marine figures out their left from right.
They really gotta un-nerf rifleman medical. Acid splashback is punishing, fractures are brutal, splints take too long to apply, organ damage is constant, like c’mon. I thought marines were ultimate killing machines. It’s a surprise that marines don’t break their bones and suffer heart attacks every time they exit cryo.
I still think it would be a nice for Medical to have plastic packaging that can hold four pills for the production of personalized pills.
Currently, all pill production is only useful to combat medics. And injector production can only be done by research - just move the medical lathe down to pharmacy, and let us also print the 4 pills packages. Boom, alot of new options for pharmacy.
OR - Remove the frikkin security system from pill bottles (So marines can also open them, not only combat medics…)
removing the weird locks from pill bottles (and other gear like pouches) would require CM to stop screwing over marines with arbitrary LRP nerfs so it’s not gonna happen
im sorry crayon eater, you aren’t smart enough to put the box in the bag without a two week correspondence medical school
refilling injectors can be quite annoying. Either there is no wey med on ground, or there is no power, or out of refill chems, or it is not hacked so you cannot refill them.
Btw what’s up with that. I understand not letting every unga vend anything they want but everybody should have access to refill stuff.
Ointment and bandages

Sometimes I still like a tric injector but I’ll just take the minimed one in that case. I can refill it on the Alamo so it’s w/e
When playing rifleman, I am very much an injector guy, but I think pills are probably faster in combat. Lately though, I’ve just been using unga because I can fit the flasks in my helmet and it’s way more effective at keeping me standing.
MEDKIT POUCH + PILL BOTTLES + HYPOSPRAY
Why? Weymed Pill Bottles carry 15x16 amount of chems, and can directly take a pill thanks to a medkit pouch QoL/buff PR. Hypospray can melt pills, as long as you dont spend the last 3-5 units of chems in the hypospray. (carry two water canteens in your helmet to circumvent this)
The left-over chems would have negligible effect to the next injection/spraying.
Now this does mean you’re kinda sacrificing a slot for a canister pouch if you carry your surgery via medkit pouch, unless you’re willing to sacrifice it.
Me? I sacrifice the canister pouch because I’m a two-bags medic. I carry my epinjectors in the same bag as my defibs, in medkit cases.
i started to put ~70 units of epi into the canister pouch before filling it with unga so it doubles as revival mix
I do agree that it would help marines in the long run but I feel for the solo doctor/ chemist/nurse or whoever usually is alone in chem. line attempting to help medics AND now pill hungry marines demanding unga pills or whatnot magical.
I doubt the poor chem. dispenser energy is gonna like the change too from going to 4 medics on low pop to 25+ medics/ marines wanting pills and 10+ medics in high pop to 70+ marines wanting pills.
But if chem. dispenser would be buffed and pills could be made by someone else (other medics/ DP/GP/DCC or whoever) too who could help out chemist then it could be fun and soul.
i mean if you spent the energy used on making tanks of unga on custom pills it wouldnt be an issue
I voted pills only because of pill bottles. If this means the useless non refillable 4x pill package i did a huge mistake, i never take those, then injectors are way better since we can refill them. (I thought that feature was going away?)
The addicts thing is catching on GOOD!
The unga addicts need to shove off. Anyway I generally use pills over injectors because I can move and take a pill at the same time where as an injector might start healing faster you need to stop and hold still to even use it. So pill packets all the way
(Added after the fact segement)
As a medic I still take the tricord revival mix. Mostly to free up my main medical bag of needing to carry epi at all outside of that.
Though I am the type to have a Bottle of basic pills and mixed pills (So Bica/MB, Kelo/KD) I don’t generally run out of pills before I run out of kits/splints.
I’ve taken to carry bottles of tricord with a hypospray set to 10u injections, mostly to help stack extra heals or deal with bica or kelo ODs.
I personally don’t like unga as a medic or a doctor. Medic because it’s easier to cause an OD in someone who’s constantly drinking it, and as a doctor, making it when you have a line of medics on high pop that need their mixed pills and having a bunch of addicts screeching about their meta pill mix that we DON’T have to make at all. I need my machine energy for medics first man
It’s more or less the optimal way to heal - the pill blisters and injectors for marines are both pretty bad.
It’s even good for medics since you can just use an unga pouch.
You’re right, it’s a skill issue people need unga as a crutch to get ‘my meta’ than to actually get standard treatments. At least “my meta” mix can’t heal Eschars. Keep them in
nothing but surgery fixes them doe
This, litterly. Marines already have severely limited options against Xeno in the field. Unga is currently the best way for them to obtain a form of reliable self-healing.
Also… yes, I would prioritize important medications such as KD, MB, IA, etc. at the beginning of the round, but the round is long enough for medics/pharmacists to play around with the chemistry dispenser to make some custom pill mixes that can still be shot. Since doctors don’t have direct access to the medical lathe (for example, for EZ injectors or their new version) and we only have the child-proof pill bottles, the focus is really on being able to make only useful things for medics, and medics are mostly, don’t get me wrong, prima donnas. They stick to what works based on their experience.
You could even use it for fun things like meth or other nonsense, but first and foremost, doctors would need access to a medical lathe and, at least in my opinion, a small pill box like the 4-pill plastic blister pack to make custom pills for the mass market.
Pill it and ship it, it instant that’s it
Unga:
Pills and Injectors don’t come close and it’s not because unga heals better, it’s because liquid in canteens is a better delivery mechanism than pills or injectors.
Injectors and pills should be buffed. Injectors need their instant application back, and pills need to double their supply per packet.
Nothing should be nerfed.
medic?
Pills.
Non-medic?
Injectors.
Makes it easier for medics to know what I dose myself with & I have the !! injector.
