I think tailjab was really needed for vamp kit, especially if we wanna make it less tanky. You need a stun even though micro to deal with shotguns (that not only deal significant damage, but also slow you a lot). I think tailjab should be brought back, but armor, healing from abilities and bleed should be tuned down.
You are wrong. Only reason 4 warriors easily win against 4 marines is stun. 4 vamps VS 4 marines would still likely be a win, but without stuns you’d have to exchange some damage and risk dying, especially because you gonna bump into each other.
Really depends on the circumstances. Warrior can easily outheal damage from an M41A by slashing the lunged guy. If you are on weeds, then shaking is not always viable. Warriors can get pheros and drone GF kisses just as well as vamp, so it’s irrelevant.
Better how exactly? Flurry targets a random limb, punch deals damage to the limb you target. Punch also applies 3 seconds slowdown and is guaranteed to break splints.
Weird comparison. And again, better how? Just by damage? It’s more reasonable to compare tail jab to lunge, as both skills are openers, and lunge is clearly superior to even the old tailjab.
i can barely count the amount of times i have perma’d to a vamp or vamp stack. warriors though… you see a guy get lunged and no one is helping, you move into help and also get lunged. the third guy who is already on the fence about helping you two gets spooked by the third warrior showing its face for a split second. boom, 2 caps/perma marines. it’s just that easy folks. maybe we need people to start stacking woys so there’s something else than vamp cope on the forum
I mean, vampires mostly just cause immense casualties rather than perma them by dragging them off, but this doesn’t mean they are less effective than warriors. I think you’re comparing apples and oranges here.
Warriors ensure caps or permas on individual marines slowly, permanently reducing the overall pool of marines. Vampires cause sustained casualties and flood medics with a fuckton of corpses, overwhelming the medical system. Overwhelming the medical system means marines lose the ability to regenerate combat effectiveness, and thus create momentum- Not to mention a steady buildup of fractures and organ damage. As such, they temporarily reduce the pool, but at a faster rate. (RIP backlines)
Woyer stacks are still shit to fight, but they’re also less survivable due to less speed and less disengagement abilities relative to vampire stacks. (They also gimp themselves when they drag people, crippling speed, whereas vampires do not care and simply move at full speed constantly) Overall, I would rather fight woyer stacks than vampire stacks.
I mean everyone here do that. There was a short period of time when base boilers were constatly getting most kills (20+), but the effect of every individual kill was negated just by one defib hit and one kelo pill.
Also, honestly, my gripe with Vampires is how that they can miss all their shit, run around like a headless chicken around the marines with their dumb speed, and still stun marines to the ground with their autoaim stun.
If a Lurker fucks up, at least it has the decency to die.
A less than average skilled Vampire will run into 30 marines with the speed of a crack addict, miss 90% of their shit and still somehow kill the bravo PVT, and then just Lunge out of the fucking screen once they get PBed with a buckshot.
noo honestly vamp is a really simple caste to learn, I mean with a simple dash that PB only stopped you for a moment, you very quickly heal, and although gotta check, pretty sure vamp has like 20 armor
vamp is easy to use even if mid in combat, most the abilities heal you so your not in real danger most the time, and normally can dash your way out if you feel you are about to die, its difficult to mess up, and honestly I have to say easiest caste to get kills with
they do seem to do too much damage too fast and move too fast, I thought lurkers were supposed to kill alone fools, but I keep seeing them wipe fully fit and armed groups of 5 marines in seconds.
Vamp is already a downgrade from the base and probably the caste that requires most efort/dancing around a marine to actually get a kill, constantly exposed to being nuked 1v1 like a runner. Just bring slugs or be around someone with a functioning left mouse button and at least a single eye directed towards the screen.

I’m in big agreement that the microstun in its old form was definitely a necessity and gave the caste a differention from base lurker. Having played a bit more since the jab was changed in certain conditions it’s actually more effective than before thanks to the extra damage from hitting the wall + the stun making it easy to absolutely shred individual marines who stand next to walls or cades. The changes aren’t good for for either side, a lot of xenos assume vamps trash now because tail jab feels so obtuse to use effectively now but i’d say tail jab has actuallly been situtationally buffed in certain scenarios so when marines face half decent vamps anywhere with walls it probably feels even worse to fight. Tail jab change should just be reverted really (maybe cooldown increased or go back to sprite clicks idk?) and balance focused around changing the armor values or changes to rush.
I like how I have yet to see a vamp do anything similar after OWL took a break or something. As if he WAS the vamp statistic that all people hate.
Edit: And I have yet to see any of these people who go “Oh yeah, i get consistent 10-15 kills on vamp every time i go it”, but instead see vamps who just insta die or do spitter type poke every minute or so.
