XENO PLAYERS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED REMORSE, SADNESS, ANGER, OR ANY NEGATUYVE EMOTIONS FROM SEEING A MARINE WEED-KILL YOUR WEEDS 10 MINUTES STRAIGHT, REFRAIN FROM POSTING HARSH COMMENTS ON THIS GUIDE, HOWEVER I ACCEPT CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM
Ever seen your weeds, as a xeno, get instantly deleted?
Ever heard… that weird constant spraying noise in the frontlines of your sisters..?
Did you weed a recently-destroyed area, only to come back a second later the weed node is gone… and there’s some… weird welding fuel stain left?
This has been the work of a nearby “Weed-Killer Specialist”, Adan Stafford.
Until now, he’s keeping quiet about it. Once the word spread amongst operations of a “Weed Killer Specialist”, he couldn’t sit still, and knew that the high command would take an eye and take away his idea from his life! He’s here to spread his knowledge and his weed killing skills before it goes extinct.
Hi, I’m Naknanok, also know as “Adan Stafford”! Such a surprise indeed!
In this guide, I will be explaining on how to become a Weed Killer Specialist!
Sadly, I do not know how to provide visuals, so this guide will be purely-read-only guide, no demonstrations.
====YAP PARAGRAPH START====
Lets start how I found out about this So-Called Weed Killer Specialist (Loadout)
It started when I asked in #gameplay-help… I asked: “Do we have weed killing chems?”
Many said; Welding Fuel.
I then asked another one: What sprayers do we have in CM13/
One said “spray bottles”, but then, I saw a water tank while spectating in-game. Oh my… it’s… THE 5-TILE-RANGE WATERTANK BACKPACK!!!
A rifleman-main’s ingenuity is appearing and shining… within his world.
I waited for the round to end… I woke up from cryo sleep…
I didn’t grab a bag… just light armor, a shotgun, and whatever a rifleman uses…
I ran to research, I BEGGED THEM FOR A WATERTANK BACKPACK, They agreed, I paid them 5-janitor buckets and a reagent tank! It was a good damn deal!!!
I ran to the pumps, filled it with welding fuel!
Something was missing although… it’s only 500 units I can carry… UNTIL 6-JANITOR BUCKETS OF WELDING FUEL APPEARED IN MY HANDS!!! I have… 3500 units of WELDING FUEL, enough to last my weed killing stuff for the whole round!
I screamed at the radio; “WEED KILLER SPECIALIST UNIT ACTIVE” at the first sight of xeno-weeds. Everyone was confused, but just ignored me.
Until… Major Tank Moore appeared in caves in the map LV-624; the cave-hell map.
I followed him… sprayed every weed in the path… it actually fucking worked with pushes… hive clusters and hive weeds? Damn they’re gone, two-sprays per line, NO MORE SLOW DOWN FOR THE PUSH!
I went on… and on… and on… until the queen died…
Major Tank Moore threw me a medal… Oh wow… A medal… for weed killing..?
Oh my god… I… I loved it… as my second medal…
And that’s how I come to become the critically self-claimed Weed-Killer Specialist every round when I play as a marine.
====END OF YAP PARAGRAPH====
REMEMBER: THERE CAN ONLY BE THREE WEED-KILLER SPECIALISTS! OTHERWISE, WELDING FUEL WOULD BE FOUGHT OVER BY YOU WEED KILLERS.
Okay, so lets get down to it:
Get your grub and stuff, bring a bag for janitor buckets later, preferably a technician bag and with your name labeled on it to avoid being stolen.
To get a water tank backpack:
Option one: Ask the MST/Chef to get you one. They also only have one of the three water tank backpacks in the almayer.
Option two: Ask researchers to give you one. The researchers have two of the three watertank backpacks you can find in the almayer. Make sure to bring at least 2-5 janitor buckets and a reagent tank to pay them back.
Now after you get one, head over to the engineering storage in the hangar area.
Print as much as many janitor buckets you need, scavange the maints for metal for the janitor buckets. If you wanna make it quick, grab the “Storage solutions” crate in the maints storage, and insert it’s contents into the lathe for more metal.
Once you get your janitor buckets, find welder fuel tanks around the map and fill them up with welder fuel, including your watertank backpack!
If you instead head to pumps, make sure to dilute the welder fuel with water as well! It’ll give you an extra bucket of welder fuel!
If you did all of these steps properly, you should be set at… 00:22 of round time at least.
At this point before deployment, double check your stuff, or just do whatever you want!
===AFTER DEPLOYMENT===
When you finally meet your first weed node, spray it from afar, from the edge-weeds. Watch the magic work.
Your role as a Weed-Killer Specialist shines when:
1.) Doing pushes against hive-weeds. Simply two-spray them. If you see them re-growing, STOP SPRAYING! Fall back to un-weeded place, and when the hive weeds stop spreading, start two-spraying again!
2.) Open-Area weed-killing. You may need flares. But other than that, you can spray everywhere. Snipe every weed node that the screen can show in the darkness! (Do not steal NVGs from people please.)
DO NOT GO ALONE. DO NOT BE COCKY. DO NOT TRY TO GET THAT WEED NODE 5-TILES BEHIND XENO WALLS. DO NOT BE NEAR ANY RESIN DOORS WHEN THERE ARE PINGS! I HAVE DIED MANY TIMES DUE TO THIS BEHAVIOR! Or I just have a skill issue or something lmao.
Stats:
5-Tile range spray, excluding the tile under the player.
1-Taps normal weed/weed nodes. (Also destroys weeds under resin structures)
2-Taps hive-weeds.
No cool down on sprays.
No friendly fire. (Until affected marine smokes a cigar or a lighter)
500-Unit Welding fuel (water diluted)ammo.
Update: Any-range of spray is actually 5-units
- 4-5 Tile-range = 5 units.
- 2-3 Tile-Range = 5 units.
- 1/Point-blank range = 5 units.
WARNINGS:
Do not spray on people with ciggs, they’ll be set on fire! This is bad, and may get you punched or worse, stabbed! So better say sorry, or say “NO MORE SMOKING!” ahehehehe.
Do not take risky maneuvers, do not dance-of-death in front of your fellow marines who are shooting. This is incredibly stupid. Just spray behind them.
THERE CAN ONLY BE THREE WEED-KILLER SPECIALIST IN A ROUND! RESPECT THE ONES WHO GOT IT FIRST! NO FIGHTING EACH OTHER FOR WELDING FUEL! HAVE SOME SPORTSMANSHIP AND SHAME!
Thank you, for reading this silly ass guide I made in a day!
Everything here is not meant to be accurate, and not to hate anyone or suck up to anyone that may be indirectly referenced.
Although, I will thank “@Survivor/Major Tank Moore” for noticing my efforts back in the LV-624, weed killing with the major next to me felt super fun.
