Significantly increase the number of spawns for xenos, I’d dare say to hundreds. To the point of being able to outnumber the marines.
Allow for a dozen or two spawns of warriors, lurkers and spitters, them being the T2s of the hive.
Buff somewhat the armor of warriors.
Remove all spitter abilities except the spit and melting.
Buff Acid spit damage to 75 per spit but somewhat increase cooldown.
Gibbed xenos will deal 100 acid damage to all marines next to it.
Buff the acid splash from when a xeno is damaged to 50 damage.
Allow for 2 or 3 crusher spawns.
Allow one praetorian spawn with the frontline strain (the one with the tail pull).
Significantly buff the armor, HP and the damage of the crusher charge and trample if it is on top of a marine.
Make the one praetorian a literal final boss. Increase armor, HP and damage by a lot. However force it to remain by the queen as a guardian, like the lore suggests.
Significantly buff queen armor, HP and damage. Make her sprite look bigger. Remove her spit and increase the cooldown for screech by a lot.
Force everyone to spawn as drone in a map entirely comprised of an endless corridor 3 tiles wide. Everyone must charge mindlessly at two sentry guns with instant kill autocannon rounds in an endless cycle, respawning after each death to charge again. The round ends when the sentry guns run out of ammunition.
This will be an extremely realistic event, perfectly encapsulating the iconic scene where marines watch as their sentry gun ammo counters drop.
Xenoes get to be fodder running into a meat grinder, while marines get to have fun mowing down xenoes. Except for the 2-3 players who get to be the “special” xeno who can have some fun.
I should have clarified, this is whiskey outpost FOR XENOES, but worse in every way imaginable.
Yeah but WO marines are defending while xenos are attacking, this would probably be xenos are defending while marines attacking, and additionally xenos won’t have much defences so they’re doomed.
I mean that’s kinda how praes are in cannon right? The whole point is for them to be stupid strong. Then again besides buffing acid I can’t think what else we can do to balance it out. You could give the marines back the APC but that’s another conversation I would rather not start. Besides they are meant to be an endgame boss more or less. And hoard tactics are the usual style xenos fight multiple opponents with.
Isn’t that what the PVE server supposed to be? Alternatively I don’t think anyone would mind if you code this as an alternative game mode(branch?) similar to WO.
But the honest “realistic” CM should also have:
20+ xenos per one marine?
Every xeno having warrior grab and 2 tap tackle
Marines die in 2 slashes
Permadeath, no defibs
Since that kinda both sucks to play and the engine does not suit this, nobody bothered to implement this, though it is a relatively common idea.
Thus, when people usually say that they want a “realistic” CM, what they usually mean is that they want to punish the xeno players, by giving marines all the broken toys, while completely gimping the xenos.
I mean sure I am up for that kind of thing. That would probably be better. Thing is in that case things would be in favour of the xenos since they have the numbers to spare unlike the marines. A single marine fuck up will doom them beyond saving it.
Cinema.
Once the ammo ends, port all observers into a reproduction of the operations room where staff re-enacts the scene where they notice the sentries are empty. Then shut down the server for a week so people can properly appreciate the realistic, cinematic, “just like the movie” experience.
