So I don’t think that this situation caused anyone an unfun experience, I am more curious about how this works in general just for future reference.

Allegedly (XO’s words) a marine called Joe Ratcliff murdered Jones after stealing him from the CO’s quarters.
When CO woke up from cryo I (as CMP) told him that I dispatched an MP for a field arrest for Animal Cruelty (as well as a couple more charges because it was a break-in)
To this Booker tells me that he wants the marine arrested for Murder, because killing his pet is a capital crime. I contacted HC in-game and ahelp, where an admin told me that it is indeed not a murder and then suggested I file a report.

Apparently, CO Code of Conduct states that “For all intents and purposes, the premeditated murder of any pet belonging to or claimed by the Commanding Officer counts as a capital crime.” This was the reason that Gysilian presented the admin, as I was told. And I am kinda confused because this is not in line with marine law, animal cruely is a major, not a capital crime.

Once again, this incident didn’t cause any bad experience to me or the marine in question because his sentence was cut short with a hijack and I let him free. I am just curious of how this exact line of CoC works with the ML. Love you Peralta <3

Hello, I was the XO. During the operation cliff called me on the phone saying can you go check COs office. Me as a war veteran already predicting jones already stolen told him to prepare for the CO to get BEd.

Later in round he calls me again saying jones dies but he didn’t kill him(still doesn’t change the fact that he stole him and couldn’t protect him). Comically CO wakes up during the end of our conversation. I send my regard and say that cliff is most likely killed your cat to peralta and then he sends his K-9 units( MPs )around the game. I didn’t get too much invested with MPs since I hate em so yeah thats how it all began I guess.

At no point did I tell you it was not murder. You seem confused. I told you to make the report because admins cannot make whitelist decisions.

That’s correct, you did not. It was another admin that contacted me before you did, Xenoverlord was his ckey I think, he told me that it was indeed Animal Cruelty.

Hello @NeOchenLord, this whitelist report has been denied after discussion with Management. As the murder of any pet owned or claimed by the Commanding Officer, would result in capital punishment per the Commanding Officer’s Code of Conduct.

That aside, we recognize that there are inconsistencies between Marine Law, Standard Operating Procedures and the Commanding Officer’s Code of Conduct. We are in the process of reviewing and addressing any discrepancies that might exist.
