Why do you wish to become a Fax Responder?
I wish to become a fax responder because I am deeply passionate about the immersive and narrative aspects of roleplaying in the server. Having engaged in similar roles which require sending faxes, such as Corporate Liaison, and to a lesser extent the Combat Correspondent, I have found immense satisfaction in helping shape the world and enhancing player’s experiences within these roles. I believe that well tailored responses can breathe life into the game, creating more of a “real world” feeling that players can greatly appreciate.
One of my main motivations is to ensure that no well crafted fax goes unanswered, as each piece of correspondence adds onto the immersive roleplay that makes this game so special. From my experiences with fax responders, I have always enjoyed receiving faxes and in general, I have always enjoyed the paperwork within this game.
By becoming a fax responder, I hope to enrich the roleplaying environment, by offering players meaningful and immersive interactions which can improve their overall experience.
What do you consider the purpose of this role?
The purpose of the Fax Responder role, at least what I consider it to be is to enhance the player experience by acting as an intermediary between the players and the game’s factions. As a fax responder, their goal should be to provide timely and meaningful responses to players’ faxes, representing their respective faction such as Weyland Yutani, the CLF, UPP, Editor for the press organizations, and so on.
This role involves creating an immersive environment where players feel their actions and communications have some sort of impact on the world, or at least their overall experience. By responding to faxes with accuracy and creativity, it makes the factions feel like integral parts of the game, rather than distant entities.
Additionally, this role helps reduce the workload on staff, allowing them to focus on other important tasks. When done right, this role ensures that high standards of roleplay are being upheld while respecting the boundaries of the role. Overall, the purpose of the Fax Responder role is to contribute to a richer and more engaging gameplay experience for all players, without causing more headaches for the staff.
When would you consider it appropriate to use your phone?
Not in many cases and I would expect it to be extremely rare, I have also never personally received a phone call from a fax responder, but I would imagine if it is an urgent matter where time is of the essence. I would ahelp before even touching the phone, as the fax machine should be the main form of communication.
