Remove Hijack. Or Make It Optional

Hijack isn’t going away, nor would I ever accept giving the power to queen to just skip it. In most cases I am never in favor of removing something when there’s still plenty of things that could be explored to make it more interesting and engaging.

Xeno endgame for example I think will mix this up, but won’t know until that starts getting TM’d (which it should soon - its just awaiting its initial review now; I just don’t currently have a lot time at this moment). What I mean is if the round has gone on long enough that the xenos have managed to get a destroyer, bringing that caste to the ship should end hijack quickly.

If you’re a xeno player and you don’t want to participate in hijack there’s a system in place to allow someone else to take over your mob if you ghost. If you’re a marine player and you don’t want to participate in hijack there’s nothing stopping you from finding a evac pod or just cryoing. But of course we would want that stage of the game to be engaging to people so they do want to stick around.

Ultimately hijack is in xeno favor despite the long hallways that can be shot down largely because of the confusion, pipe explosions, and ratio of xenos to marines. Its a way for marines to make their last stand, and it may be the only combat shipside personnel get to see in the round. They get to see first hand the consequences of the marine force failing to push back the xeno threat and now its a scramble to get away with your life.
