Scout stun ammo is the most braindead, skill-less, unfair bullshit in this entire game. You mean to tell me that some speedy little shitter can just tap me once with their magic bullets and I’m instantly flopping around like a fucking fish while the entire marine frontline dogpiles me? This is Marine Lurker gameplay. A one-sided, unavoidable death sentence that you have zero control over. Oh, you wanna run? Good luck, because that first hit just cut your speed in half. You wanna fight back? What, with the half second of movement you get between getting stunned again?
Scout players, before you come in here and type “just don’t get hit lol,” shut the fuck up. The M4RA is a pinpoint laser rifle that fires with full sprint speed. If a Scout is actually aiming, you will get hit. Doesn’t matter if you’re dodging, doesn’t matter if you’re moving erratically. They get one shot on you, you lose. It’s literally just Marine pounce stun, but worse, because it doesn’t require melee range.
i mean yeah its always been strong but it does need to, imo the perma stun range needs to be like 3-4 tiles or something, also been thinking about a general incend ammo rework where more stacks are applied with more bullets with shotguns and sniper giving more stacks than basic rifle ammo so they arent just a ranged flamer
To be clear i dont mean that fighting back is an option in a 1v1 past 3-4 tiles, just that the scout needs to commit to the attack more to avoid the xeno from escaping
well it is fightable if you are good at the videogame and especially if you have a good caste to fight it with or have the capability to not be lone
But yeah its one of the only ways to make scout able to 1v1 xenos semi-reliably without having them be gigatanky

Scout isn’t difficult to defeat if you overwhelm and quickly close distance, scout relies on distance, his accuracy drops down when you’re closer.
XENO MAIN WELCOME TO STUN BASED GAMEPLAY!.. but jokes aside the impact ammo is not that bad really, its like getting hit with slug and yes while shottys got real slow RPM and poorer aim then the M4RA custom its still a spec gun.( Edit: to clarify, what i mean is that we got baseline guns that can stunlock and while yes the M4RA is better at it, they are spec that by design are ether just better then PFC or add more utility to the USCM ground forces.)
also this, M4RA has dog shit ammo capacity and low RPM so it fairs quite poorly in CQC.
Scout is basically a human lurker (the only one on the entire marine force), but T3, irreplaceable, and fights where a single mistake = permadeath.

Scouts job is to kill overextending t1/t2s no matter if front or backline.
There is just one scout and if they die its most of the time game over for them. That’s why they have the tools to 1v1. The ideal gear to 1v1 a lurker or any t1/t2 is a stun + flamer + high dps chase weapon. You can get that in as a normal marine due to you not having to use a backpack but as a scout you are limited to one slot. How are you suppose to reliably have a fair 1v1 with a lurker when you can carry but one weapon with yourself really. This is where that ammo you hate so much comes to play. Its a game of you stun them you win and they stun you, you loose. Don’t over extend, listen to comms, try to not be alone (basic marine lurker evasion stuff tbh).
In other words. You died to a scout doing what he was designed to do and you don’t want him to do what he was made to. Salt bait.

It’s funny, I was watching a scout last night, who said he’s also a prime runner, just cleaning house on LV “The Ghost of LV” command called em. Seeing how he played a good scout needs to know the good spots, have incredible map knowledge, when to engage, and he almost got killed 3 or 4 times for picking off lone xenos.
People will say never run off alone, it’s true for xenos too. never be alone. Work together.

All jokes aside, scout can easily be countered unless its played by one of the cracked individuals who knows how to accurately hit a sprite 100% of the time even then….90% of the time scouts just die anyway.
not saying anything regarding either side however scout does have the tools to avoid confrontations unless they are walking up to a resin door with no care in the world and theres a warrior behind it, i have never really ever been jumped by the entire hive because if i see multiple xenos i will just go the other way rather than fight them
As for other people saying scout is equivalent to human lurker, yeah nah not even close, his presence means the backline is never safe until hes gone, a lurker means you need to clear out weeded backlines and stick in a group of 3 that know how to click on sprites, do remember that xenos dont have the numbers compared to marines to shell out an extra xeno or 2 to ensure casualties remain small to a threat with binos that you cant see coming

Most scouts are bald anyways and just get caught in the hive without firing a single bullet, the ones that hug the frontline are near useless and contribute nothing to the round (le stay invisible and occasionally decloak, FF and recloak to hide from the embarrassment).
