Replace "View Hive Leaders" in lobby with "View hive manifest"

Yeah, title. Frankly hive leaders gives really iffy idea of how close a match is to over, and it gets annoying when you see queen and no leads, assume round is gonna end, then 30 minutes later xenos are still alive cause queen never assigned leads.

Let us see hive manifest like we see crew manifest, or atleast a “xenos alive” count.

It does seem oddly asymetric with pre-latejoin meta one can accrue at first glance.
Why is it xeno-sided? e.g.: You can tell which specs are dead prior to going larva, and whether bushman is leading to join xenos for a free W
but you cannot tell whether WAR or SAM is woyering if they’re not set as lead (somehow) because..?

Personally I think the reason it is so iffy that you can glean that much info in the lobby as-is - if you’re going to be joining xenos, you’re likely going to be observing and have access to the full picture anyhow, whereas if you’re joining marines - you will be straight into IC without ever having access to hive status beforehand.

The correct and most fair fix, IMO, is to abolish both lists and replace them with a active/total number on the join button for either side.

But even still we also have cm-TV now, so all of this tip-toeing might be moot.
With that in mind, we should probably just add a hive manifest to have xeno/marine lobby parity and be done with it.

This will still not tell you whether WAR as the last xeno is about to throw, or is camping 12 nested marines about to burst (the latter is usually a safer assumption anyhow)

Am I shizo for arguing for both sides of the outcome within the same reply before settling on one? Perhaps, welcome to my stream of consciousness.

Not at all weird to try and break this apart; manifests and representations of who’s in a round have been an issue across SS13 servers that no one has resolved.

It’s pretty much the only allowed form of metagaming to see who is playing what side. Even if it was removed, the “Who” command can give you good hints.

I suppose marines see more because their round Is more influenced down to the degree of “I really don’t like this person as SL, so I want to avoid that squad”. Versus xeno, if I don’t like a teammate, or a leader, I don’t roll with them. If I don’t like the queen, then I still will engage in the same gameplay as if I did like the queen. But if I don’t like Charlie SL and I’m playing a role with some obligation to them, I guess I might have a rough time unless I orchestrate a suspicious death-by-falling-piano-into-runner-grab-never-to-be-seen-again…

Not to say the discrepancy is a moot observation. Just that it’s hard to resolve. Although I would actually like to know why it is the way it is now.

The MOST important manifest use for me though…knowing whether the other SG in shared prep is a FILTHY DRUM STEALER !!!

Thechnicly both view hive leaders and view crew manifet could be removed from the lobby but ehh not big enough issue for me to bother, if you are latejoining xeno you are going to observe anyway and able to know it all and more that way. drathek palns to deal with that at some point but till then there is no point in changing this
