Bring back supermatter engine right now. I want half the ship blowing up every round.

Joking aside, it was pretty rare for the SM to blow up during the sulaco era. I unironically think adding an engine that is a bit more complex would be cool. Current engine can be fixed by anyone with a brick level IQ

Fun fact. I was permabanned back in 2015 for ejecting the SM shard and suiciding as CE :pensive: literally 1984

I do think that we should make some APC’s broken at roundstart. Cause lore wise, the marines have just traveled from a combat mission and ended up chasing a beacon a week away. I won’t be surprised if some parts of the ship were damaged

I am explaining what is the exact same reason given by different dev/admin/management teams for the past 4 years. If you want it in the game, code it, be the dev team, convince staff it’s good for the gamestate.

I still want private medbay or naval ranks back, but that shit is not happening.

Old engine maintenance was just straight up a chore. No real player interaction, no direct reward or incentive, disrupting availability for other shenanigans…

Personally been very willing to implement a new and better thought out system at some point but I:

  • Can’t really sprite
  • Don’t want to spend 100 hours designing something vaguely acceptable for what is a tricky niche
  • Have yet to be proposed a well designed and succint enough system to make it viable/worth

Maybe the day someone takes the time to build a concept that is more than ideaguys what-ifs

Believe it or not in these projects the biggest blockers are not code, it’s someone willing to do the design heavy lifting, maintainer reviewing, and player acceptance. Same goes for stuff like Reqs reworks…

Whichever admin thinks this is a good idea needs to reevaluate their priorities then, because this is the most braindead take on shipside handling I’ve seen in months.

By this logic, CIC should be removed because you NEED a competent command staff to have a chance with the way communication works.
