Enforcement Action Taken

Description of the incident:

Towards the end of the round during a failed evacuation attempt from surviving marines from LZ2 on the Normandy, PO’s managed to send the dropship back up to the Almayer with myself and 2 other xenos inside the cockpit.

Once we landed in the hangar marines from the floor above proceeded to exploit the fact that the dropship had no overhead cover and shot down at us, killing us while we were stunned from the landing.

SmellyHippie’s decision was that since we apparently have been running multi-z for a month, that this feature of the dropship not having a roof is intended (which is of course absurd) and that players would be free to exploit this mechanic in the future, should they desire.

I would argue that just because a broken feature exists, regardless of how long it has gone unfixed, does not justify someone exploiting said mechanic for an unfair advantage.

I think that either the decision should be changed to regard this action as exploitive, or a roof should be added to the dropships.

Hey there, @Rhynostar.

First of all, I want to clarify that the lack of roofs on the Dropships is indeed silly and definitely not intended I fully agree with you there. The team working on Multi-Z has been informed, and this issue will be fixed soon. Multi-Z is still a very new feature, and both players and staff are doing their best to adapt. I personally believe it’s not fair or in good faith to punish players for issues that arise during this test period.

I don’t believe Hippie committed any kind of misconduct here. This is not a staff issue, nor is it something Hippie could or should have resolved. This is a coding problem, and as I mentioned, it will be addressed shortly.
