Rickie's OT Mine Guide

OT mines should be placed in places where there’s no marines in range of both incend and HE.

Where can I find the components assemblies?

Assembly components can be in the Component Storage Vendors and Autolathe.

The type of assembly mines
Proxy-Ignitor Mine

Proxy-ignitor assembly can be created by putting together proximity and ignitor. Proxy-ignitor will trigger when the enemy is in the set radius of the mine. It will make a beep sound before detonating

Tripwire

Tripwire can be made by putting both two ignitor into one. Tripwire detonates when the enemy steps on the mines(same tile as the mine). The detonation is instant when step on

Full ANFO

Just 120u of ANFO

HE+Sharpnel
Chemical Units
ANFO 40
Cyclonite 48
Iron 32

Full Ethanol

120u of Ethanol

Inced+WP

Ethanol is for maxing out the duration and radius

Chemical Units
Ethanol 90
Phosphorus 30

WP+Sharpnel

Iron and Phosphorus can be both 30u for the convenient. Can still crit a lurker

Chemical Units
Phosphorus 60
Iron 32
Welding Fuel 28

HE+WP+Sharpnel

Expensive one yet. (I haven’t made this in actual game)

My personal tip is that phosphorus is by far the best damage source in claymores since it is not affected by the low intensity cap, phosphorus damage is it’s own separate thing. 10 phosphorus adds 1 radius of smoke and it caps out at 4 so all you need is 40 phosphorus, rest of the space can go for shrapnel or explosive. Something funny about phosphorus smoke is that it damages people when they touch the cloud, so the faster the victim the more damage they take. I’ve killed preds with phosphorus+HE claymores before because they take so much damage running through each tile of smoke, but it does a lot of damage to xenos too if they keep moving through it.

Oh, also, you should almost always use tripwire. If you want to use a proximity sensor you might as well make a c4 instead, since they can use proximity sensors and have much better caps.

great guide short, sweet and to the point! now as some one who quite likes making mines i have a few things to add.

first of all DO NOT TRUST THE COMTECHS TO PLANT THE MINES… really just ask the ASO or CE if you can head down to plant a mine field. The comtechs and grunts can and will plant mines right along the barricade line, even if you put a user guide with the mines and clearly mark them as being long range flame mines.

that being said you can trust a comtech if you tell them how to use it, but never trust them to read… i seen so many barricade lines get cooked…

also you can make cardboard boxes to store the mines the box can’t fit in a bag but you can hold 14 mines just in your hands by putting it in a box. i for one when i make a ton of booze mines i make a wood crate and will put my boxs in there to drag to were i need to.

Edit: you can put 7 mines per box.
